Now it happened that in the fourth age whilst some elves still remained in middle earth there was for a short while a king of the Greenwood named Thrednos. He is remembered little for he did no deeds of great renown. What chiefly distinguished him if such a term can be used was his fierce temper and lack of courtesy towards all of those who were unfortunate enough to cross his path. The records shed no light on the reasons for this behaviour but in his own time he gained far and wide a reputation for his lack of manners. After ruling in the Greenwood for a sparse number of years he succumbed to sickness, brought on in no small part by his lack of temperance. When he was laid to rest in the Greenwood a small stone was carved with this epitaph.

Rude Elf Thrednos reigned here.
