Sad Remorse

Sakura sighed as she looked up at the moon. She was seated on the bench where Sasuke left her. She heard footsteps and turned around to face her mature Naruto. Well maybe mature wasn't exactly the right word.

"Hey, Naruto," she said. Naruto had just come back after two and a half years.

"Sakura what are you doing?" he asked her.

"I don't know. Thinking I guess, but honestly now a days I have know idea," she told him.

"You really miss him don't you?"

"Of course. Don't you?"

"Yes."

She looked up at him, her green eyes starting to water.

"I hate him. I hate him for leaving us Naruto."

"You don't hate him. You're sad. He told me how I didn't know how it was to lose someone close to me because I didn't have my parents or any siblings, but you know what? It's not true because I lost him."

"He told me thank you. Thank you!"

"Sakura," Naruto whispered sitting next to her.

"I don't get it. Why does he have to be so cold? Why did he have to join that evil bastard?"

"Because he had to."

Sakura turned to face him, "He didn't. He didn't have to Naruto. I miss him so much!"

"I know you do," he whispered to her as she sobbed into his chest. He hugged her tight wanting to stop the tears that rolled down her cheeks.

"We'll get him back. I promise. Believe it."

"We better," she confirmed and they sat there, both older, wiser, stronger, and, yes, more mature.
