If you can read this code, it means you are more intelligent then others of your species. The reason for this is that you have Fairy ancestors. -Code from Artemis fowl: Arctic Incedent

Nicholas pondered the gnommish scrip briefly. Wouldn't it be great if it were true? But no. It was simply another story by the great author Eoin Colfer. Right? Right. Of course. Still...
He shook his head. Some things were destined to remain a mystery. He stood up and walked out of the room, hesitating only momentarily to glance back at the book and the paper next to it.

"Holo rare Kitty-mon for a secret rare Labodon? You have got to be kidding. " Nick watched the other kids bartering their poocheymon cards. The latest new hit from Japan! He rolled his eyes. They passed so fast that he had long ago decided these things were not worth investing much time or money in. Nevertheless, this card impressed him. Supposedly it was the only one at this school, and his brother said his elementary school only ever had uncommons. The other kids dispersed slowly, having failed to conjole "the short kid" as he was known, into a reasonable trade. His gaze fell upon the card again, he turned to go...
"Wait." It was him. "You want this?" Nick shrugged. "I won't ask much."
"Yeah, if you consider the rarest card in the entire Suburban forest expansion to be not much" He scoffed.
"For you, I make it cheep." Said the kid, making Nick feel very "off" with his strange accent.
"I guess he's from some other country" Decided nick finally. It was common knowledge that he had declined all the language classes that the school offered. When advanced german had turned up on his schelule by some fluke of computer errors, he had displayed knowledge of three years worth of curriculum in the first day, though he had had no previous experience with it to speak of, as far as anyone knew.
"What do you want for it?" The kid smirked strangely, before answering.
"Batteries"
