One sunny morning, Kipper the Dog, Tiger, Pig, and Arnold were walking up Big Hill to the picnic grounds. They were going to have a lovely picnic.
Pig was pushing Arnold in his carriage. Arnold was being entertained by his toy stuffed duck.
"This is going to be a wonderful picnic!" said Tiger excitedly. 'We've got delicious roast-beef and cheese sandwiches, lemonade, chips, and cake for dessert!"
"Calm down Tiger!" laughed Kipper. "We're here!"
Arnold looked up for a minute, then sucked his thumb.
They soon settled on a nice, shady spot, right near the lake.
"This should be perfect." said Kipper. "Let's set up."
"But what if it rains?" asked Tiger.
"It's not going to rain!" said Kipper.
Arnold was staring at the lake.
"Duck!" he exclaimed.
"Arnold must want to go see the ducks in the lake." said Tiger.
"Do you want to go see the ducks Arnold?" asked Pig.
Arnold nodded, and then Pig and Arnold walked off towards the lake.
"While Pig and Arnold are away, do you want to help me set up the picnic?" asked Kipper.
"I guess." said Tiger.
But Tiger wanted to take a nature walk.
"Kipper?"
"Yeah Tiger?"
"Do you think it's going to rain?"
"It's a sunny, cloudless day." said Kipper. "Now, do you have the utensils?"
Tiger reached into his pocket, and took out the utensils.
But then, the utensils blew away!
"Whoops." said Tiger. "My mistake."
The utensils blew towards the nature path.
"Come on! Let's get those utensils."
They followed the nature path, collecting all the utensils that they could find.
"We've got the spoons and knives, but where are the cake forks?" asked Kipper.
Then, they heard a growling sound.
"What could that be?" asked Kipper.
"Let's figure it out." said Tiger, feeling a little nervous.
They kept following the path, and then, they saw it.
"A bear with our cake forks!" exclaimed Kipper. "How surprising!"
The bear was black, like a grizzly bear, but walked just like the others.
"Hello!" said the bear. "Are these your cake forks?"
"Yes they are." said Tiger.
The bear handed over the cake forks.
"So sorry for taking them." said the bear. "I thought someone was having a picnic."
"We are!" said Kipper. "We're having delicious roast-beef and cheese sandwiches, lemonade, chips, and cake for dessert."
"That sounds tasty. Can I come?"
Kipper and Tiger thought for a minute.
"Sure!" said Kipper.
So the three friends walked off together towards the picnic grounds.
When they arrived back, Pig and Arnold were surprised to see the bear.
"Where did you find him?" asked Pig.
"We found him while looking for the cake forks," said Tiger.
Everyone laughed, and then sat down to have a lovely picnic.
