Prologue: The weird dream
Laying curled up at the feet of Usagi and Mamoru, Luna slept peacefully as she purred until she felt Mamoru began to twitch but didn't feel Usagi stir at all. The thing that Usagi could sleep through was absolutely astounding, and Luna sometimes couldn't believe it. Drifting back off to sleep Luna suddenly was swept with her own vision. It was them, as they were now. After the galaxy cauldron, and the earth began to go into a frozen tundra. Not by a threat, or an alien attack. No. By its own weather. Luna began to panic as she watches as Usagi began to turn into Princess Serenity, and summon forth the Silver Crystal and as she tried to unfreeze the earth the first time, it failed. She tried a second time. It failed. The earth was in a frozen tundra and there was nothing that she could do about it. Eventually living in the recreated moon kingdom on the moon, Usagi stared at the earth mourning for her parents, and Mamoru just slowly wasted away as Elysion was affected by the weather as well. Finally the last try Luna watched, and in fear, everyone around her watched as the Princess of the Moon, who was supposed to be the Queen of Earth fell backward. Dead. Everyone cried, and both Luna and Mamoru woke up crying out "Usagi!"
Looking at Mamoru, Luna tilted her head to the side as she blinked. "Mamoru..." She said in a whisper as looked over to Usagi and noticed she had stirred and woken up.
"Mamo-chan...Luna..." She said groggily rubbing her eyes and a very confused and worried look on her face. "Are you okay?" Both the two nodded their heads and reassured the little bun head that all was well as Mamoru kissed his sweet love on her lips and smiled.
"I am well Usagi, Luna is as well"
"That's right Usagi. We are alright. You should get some sleep. You have a wedding to be planning for. College is almost over you know." Luna said with a giggle.
"You're so mean Luna..." Usagi said as she kissed Mamoru once more and then rolled over "I'm going to be going to college...I'm not in college yet...meanie..."
Mamoru had to hold in his laughter as Usagi was quickly asleep and then looked at Luna. "What was the dream you had?" Luna blinked and then sighed. "Luna...was it about the earth and Usagi?" Luna nodded.
"I"m going to go pray to the moon, and Selene. Mamoru, you should get sleep. It was just a dream. Remember we have had peace for a very long time, and dreams can just be dreams. That's why I am going to pray."
"Stay. Pray here. I want to pray for her with you Luna..." Mamoru's voice sounded almost pleaded and Luna gave a small smile as she nodded.
"As you wish my prince." Luna opened the room up so she could see the moon better, and then closed her paws together as she began to bow her head and pray up to the moon, and Selene. "Selene the nightmare I just had was scary, and I am hoping it isn't true. Usagi is our moon princess, and soon to be the queen of this world. She is loved by so many and has gone through so much already that I don't think that she can handle much anymore. Please, Selene, send us a sign of why you sent that dream. It's not like anyone to send a dream like that to me. Usually, you send you dreams to Rei, Michiru, or even our little Hotaru. Please send me a sign. What is about to happen. Don't take our princess from us, she's our true princess. That's why you let us, and everyone else find her. Thank you for listening to me tonight Selene. Goodnight." Luna looked up and saw the moon glowing brightly. She jumped back from the window and a beam of moonlight lit up the room and lifted up Usagi. Confused Luna looked at Usagi and light lifting her. "I don't understand what is going on?"
The beam lifted up Usagi as gently as it could, and then a beam slowly went into her chest, placing her down where she lay the light slowly floated out of Usagi in an iridescent white gold colored crystal. Luna and Mamoru just exchanged a look of confusion. Once the crystal disappeared, the moonlight wrapped around Luna and Mamoru in a hug and then disappeared.
"What the?" Mamoru said as he looked at Luna again.
"I haven't the foggiest," Luna said as she looked at Usagi wondering what just happened. "But Selene would never hurt her. I know that much."
"We...should sleep."
"Yes...Yes, Mamoru...we should...Or Usagi will be up again asking a lot of question, or accusing of an affair." Both of them laughed shaking their heads and went back to sleep.
