As Time Goes By
Summary: A little oneshot about Vader getting used to his suit.
Darth Vader's eyes snapped open. He looked around with tired eyes. He rarely slept these days, and what little sleep he got was filled with nightmarish visions of a distant past. It had only been three months since his duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi, yet he still had a hard time getting used to his new life-support suit. The mechanical breathing was the only thing he was truly used to. Sure, try hearing it 24/7, you'd get used to it pretty fast.
However, he was nowhere near used to the constant pain. It had been with from the moment he'd caught fire. Even on Coruscant, where he'd become a cyborg. He'd been kept wide awake during the entire surgery, and Vader had felt every excruciating moment.
Right next to that was the way he saw things. These days, the world was cast in an infrared lighting, and scopes zoomed in on everything. He had an incredibly difficult time controlling it. And most of the sounds he heard sounded like they were coming from deep underwater One of these days, I'm probably going to go deaf, or at the very least it's going to drive me insane.
Vader thought about every other downside of his suit, and then decided that the next time he came face-to-face with Kenobi, he woud show no mercy, just as he had left him to burn to death on the shores of a lava river.
A/N: So what do you guys think? This is my first attempt at writing a oneshot, so don't be too harsh. I came up with the idea while watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and then I saw one of my Darth Vader action figures, and this story popped into my head. I listened to a bunch of heartbreaker songs to further motivate me, and to give this story a sappy feel. Reiews are appreciated for this story.
