Much to Luke's surprise, Someone was knocking at the door of the stacks.
"Who's that?" Luke asked Mina, who was searching through the stakes numberless book shelves for something or other.
"Ruby?"Mina suggested.
"She's minding her brother."
"Maybe she brought him with her."
"Not after what happened last time we let him near our equipment."
Another knock.
"Galvin, then?"
"Galvin doesn't knock."
"Well if someone else knows we're here, it would be best to find out who it is."
"...Right." Luke dragged himself out of his chair & over to the door.
"Hi?, a girl who looked about 16 stood looking puzzled in the doorway of the stacks. "I'd ask if I was in the right place, but I don't think there are many underground libraries around here." she forced herself to keep a straight face, though she wanted desperately to laugh.
"Anna? It's been a long time since I last saw you." Mina called from within the forest of artefacts.
"You still haven't, unless you found a way to shake hands at over 100 paces." Mina smirked at this, though she was to far away for anyone to notice. Then more softly, Anna spoke again "And two years isn't a long time for us."
"Sorry?" Luke looked at her, bemused.
"Nothing, where's Galvin?"
"Out getting coffee. He should be back soon if you want to wait."
"May as well, I'll only be hovering out here until he comes back anyway. What's your name by the way, since your the only one I don't know?"
"Luke"
"Jay Van Helsing's Luke?"
"You knew my dad?"
"Long story, I'll explain when we're inside."
"Sure, sorry."
"For what, it's only fair you where surprised. I would be too, if some stranger turned up out of the blue and said they knew my dad."
"Seems to happen to me a lot lately." he half-joked as she walked in.
------
"So how do you know Galvin?"
"16 years ago there was a vampire on a killing spree in London." she paused and seemed to think " It's always London, Teeming masses and all that, I guess." she suddenly looked worries, and glanced over to Mina to reassure herself that she hadn't heard. Once she was confident she hadn't, she sighed wit relief.
"What?" Luke looked to see where Anna was looking, then back to Anna, a quizzical look on his face.
"Mina can't hear me say anything like that."
"Why?"
"It would be cruel." she sighed heavily. "Anyway, now I'll answer your question."
