A/N: I've always been a huge NaLu fan – they're just too cute together! – so I wrote a one-shot on them. It's a bit weird, but I could never really control my characters and write the way I wanted to anyway. Sigh.
Ever After
Summary: She hasn't quite reached the happily ever after, but this by itself was enough for ever after.
"Lucy!" One Natsu Dragneel, sitting on her couch, two little seconds gone, where's the other three?
It took a moment for Lucy to realize that today, only Natsu had trespassed her apartment.
"Tadaima."
"Okairi!" Came the reply, and Lucy rolled her eyes. He obviously didn't realize how much of a married couple they sounded right now.
"Why are you here? Never mind, I've asked that too many times. Why are you here alone?"
Natsu gave her a wolfish grin, and she felt herself melt a little inside. Really, she'd gotten used to him in her apartment. Secretly she felt pleased that he was here, alone. Maybe something might happen between them and—
Lucy stopped herself from thinking too far ahead of herself.
"Well, Gray is out on a date with Juvia, same with Happy, only with Carla... And you know how Jellal is going around busting criminals nowadays? He's passing by today and," he grimaced. "I just found out what Erza and Jellal do every time they meet once in a while... I wish I never followed her."
Lucy hid a smile. "And what do they do?"
Natsu looked scandalized. "They do.. This and that!"
"Hm...? I don't understand," she said, playing dumb, smirking in amusement as the dragon slayer's face glowed a bright red.
Then on impulse, she leaned in and kissed him.
He was, obviously, shocked by the suddenness of it all, but responded with equal passion, moving his mouth against hers. Her tongue flicked experimentally in his mouth, and he let out a groan; sliding his arms around her waist, he pulled her closer to him.
They broke apart for air, and Natsu, blushing bright red, pushed Lucy into his chest, who let out a surprised yelp.
"What was that for?" Lucy complained, struggling in Natsu's arms.
"You can't see me blushing! It's embarrassing!"
Lucy smirked. "So, Erza and Jellal do this and that... Something like that, right?"
He let her up, giving her a playful scowl. "Something like that, maybe a but more intense, if you want to go there...?"
When was Natsu the one teasing her? She was the one doing the teasing.
But Natsu was so cute when he was covering up his embarrassment.
"Anyway, do you, you know..." Natsu seemed to struggle for words, and for a second the hopeless romantic in her believed that he was going to ask her to be his girlfriend, before immediately dismissing the thought. They'd only kissed, just then, just once. It wasn't yet enough.
"Do you want to go to the Spring Festival with me?" He managed out, looking like he was going to choke.
She giggled girlishly. "Sure."
It wasn't enough to be a happy ever after, but it was enough to be her ever after.
