Hey guys!
It's kinda a short one today - one I wrote a few weeks ago - cos' I'm working on something else at the mo. - so don't have all that much time to type it up etc.
Anyways, hope you enjoy!
Zach's POV:
I unlocked the heavy metal door with the hefty set of keys and strode in.
And there she was, sitting weakly, head resting on a table bolted to the floor.
She had lost a lot of weight, and now was skinnier than ever. Her spine protruded sickly from her back, clearly visible through her translucent top. Her once gorgeous hair was now lacklustre and tousled, almost into dreads. Her clothes were now soiled rags.
But all these changes faded into insignificance, when she lifted her head.
Because there, looking out from her dirt-streaked face, were her deep set, pain filled eyes.
I did't need to ask what she'd been through - because it was all in her haunted gaze.
- Yet, in a very obscure way, she was still beautiful.
"Cammie?" I asked, almost unsure if it really was her.
She wordlessly got to her feet and stumbled - from fatigue and hunger to stand by my side.
Through the tears in her shirt, you could see that you could easily count her ribs.
For a second, I half-wondered if I should hug her, before realising that she probably hated me - for taking so long, among other reasons.
"Let's go," I said, steadying her, putting an arm 'round her emaciated shoulders, as she almost collapsed. I tried to ignore her blossoming bruises.
"Where?" She asked, her voice a hoarse whisper.
"Home," I replied, wondering if, after 4 years, she remembered where that was.
As you can tell, I was in one of my more 'brooding' moods when I wrote it!
So, whad-da-ya think?
