Shattered Mirrors
Disclaimer: I don't own anything.
The broken mirror lay on the floor. Lianne felt the blood seeping from her palm and didn't move to bind it. It was funny really, to see the blood that belonged to her body but not to her. No, nothing belonged to her anymore. It never had, she realized with a smile, nothing had ever belonged to her.
Not her blood, her body, her hair, her mind or any thought that passed through her mind. It belonged to her the Queen and King and it would be used as they saw fit. Her sister Kalasin had warned her, over and over, that despite growing up with a beautiful childhood once she reached her teenaged years her life would take a turn. The happiness she felt would be hollow and broken. The Queen and King wanted only perfect children and expected it from them, so they took control of their every movement, their every thought, and made sure they knew whose loyalty was demanded from them.
Lianne took a last look in the mirror that wasn't broken. Too soon the pieces would be falling down to the floor as she left the room. Tomorrow she would face the consequences of breaking something and causing damage not only to the objects but to her hands. But for now, Lianne could enjoy the moment.
Because really, when you had bad luck breaking a mirror may be able to reverse that.
A/N: I'm not quite sure why I wrote this but I just figured not everyone is as perfect as they strive to be and there may reasons why they strive to be perfect. I figured that there had to be other aspects of the Conte Royal Family that not everyone sees and that they hide from other people.
