Sword Art Online: Rise of the Devil
Chapter One: Link Start!

November 6, 2022

Today was THE day.

A young black haired boy grinned to himself as he walked through the doors of his traditional style home in Setagaya. He waited months for the game and now he finally had it.

I'm finally going to go back. He thought.

Lost happily in his thoughts, he didn't realize that his father, a slim, forty-year old man, stood in front of him. His father, Noboru Kuga, cleared his throat that made the boy stop in his tracks and look up towards the taller man.

The boy's bright grin dimmed at the sight of his father.

"Ryosuke." Noborusaid in a deep, tired voice. "Welcome home."

"I'm back." Ryosuke murmured quietly.

Ryosuke heard his father clear his throat again. He felt uncomforatble under his father's tired gaze. He really doesn't want to get into another argument with his old man again. Ryosuke sighed.

"Is there anything you need, father?" He asked as politely as he could.

Noboru nodded solemly. "I have a very important matter to discuss with you about."

Ryosuke lifted his left eyebrow questioningly. Whatever it was, their very important conversation would end up becoming an argument sooner or later. Wanting to avoid the conversation he denied.

"I'm going to have to apologize father, but I'm going to be very busy today. Can it wait til dinner?" He asked formally.

Ryosuke felt smaller than he was under his father's piercing brown eyes. He saw a flash of anger, but it quickly disappeared and his father gave him a tight lip smile.

"Fine." His father said cooly. "Dinner."

Ryosuke nodded quickly and walked passed his father upstairs into his room. He breathed a sigh of relief. It felt strange that his father agreed with him. His father never agreed with him. Not wanting to think more about his father's strange behavior, Ryosuke shook the thought out of his head and decided to focus on the more important thing that made him happy.

The first ever VRMMORPG released in the entire world.

"Sword Art Online." He read dreamily.

He doesn't want to spend anymore time outside of the amazing fantasy world. He quickly sent a quick text to his mother downstairs that he would be a little late to dinner and doesn't wait for a response before putting the disc in and put the Nervegear over his head.

With a wide grin he excitedly spoke the words,

"Link Start!"
