Sometimes moving away from the people you love and the home you have grown up in and lived in for over 15 years is hard, it's hard for me. I'm going to miss my friends, my family and my hot summer days here in Orlando, Florida. My parents have decided to send me to a boarding school somewhere in Canada, I didn't bother looking it up. All I know is that it's somewhere cold but apparently sunny, somewhere called Charlottetown. "Lily, can you please wind up your window, its starting to get cold out." My mother Helen said to me. I rolled up the window with a glare on my face aimed at my parents. Of course it was cold, and they were sending me into the middle of it. I hadn't spoken to my parents since we left home. My mother is trying to act happy, as if she can trick me into feeling that way about going to boarding school. My father just agrees on everything with my mother. And of course she was happy. They were sending me to boarding school. My mother said it would 'broaden my horizons' but I knew better. They were sending me away so they could fulfil their life long dream of travelling the world, with out me.

We finally arrived at Charlottetown boarding school. St Edwards's boarding school it was called. It was very pretty but all hope vanished when I stepped out into the cool crisp afternoon air. The sunset over the front of the school was blissfully beautiful. After I took in the outside of the school, I said my final goodbyes to my parents and my little sister, Ellie. She already missed me, I could tell, we were very tight sisters, even if she was only five. She was staying with my grandparents on Rhode Island. I felt bad for her, not having me ore my parents around at that age, but I would rather be in boarding school than my grandparents any day.

I finally trudged up the schools steps with the headmistress, Mrs Pallor, to my dorm. My dorm had only one other girl in it. It was a very large room, very girly which was a plus for me. "Lily, this is your new room mate." she motioned the girl to come forward. She stood up from her desk and came to introduce herself to me. "Hello, my name is Rhiannon." She said in a very careful tone. This girl was beautiful. She had tanned skin and very large brown eyes with long dark brown, almost black, straight hair. Tied in a high ponytail with a black satin ribbon, even tied up it was still very long, to the middle of her back Mrs Pallor took her leave and Rhiannon showed me where to put my things. She helped me unpack my things and set up my half of the bedroom. The closet was very big considering we were at a boarding school, which added another pro to my list.

Rhiannon and I stayed in our dorm til lights out, chattering over the pictures of my family and friends back home. We swapped life stories to get to know one another better, since we were room mates. She told me a bit about the school after looking at my timetable, which was the same as hers. Rhiannon was the only student I saw on my first day.
