A/N: Because the world needs more Lelouch x Shirley.

Disclaimer: Code Geass does not belong to me. If it did, we'll have a longer epilogue and more screen time for Cheese-kun

Shirley Fenette has always believed in fairy tales, happy endings and prince charmings. The moment she met Lelouch, she knew that she had found her prince (Quite literally). She had to get to know him.

Violet meets olive and she smiles. That was all it took to take his breath away.

"Lulu", that was the nickname she gave him. After many times of trying to convince her to stop calling him that, Lelouch realized that it was to no avail. "Lelouch sounds so serious, distant and guarded", she stated simply. "Lulu is warmer and much kinder to hear." Yes, like a balm to sooth a sore wound. She wanted to be his balm.

His eyes crinkled upon hearing that, a hint of a smile in his voice. "Lulu, eh…"

She never knew why she fell for her aloof classmate. It wasn't good looks or his academic excellence that most girls are swooned by. No, it was really something else. Shirley had come to know that behind those steely amethyst orbs, that crooked smile of his, there was something lurking underneath the surface. The way his eyes fill with emotion, how heavy his shoulders seem to be, as if he was carrying the weight of the world. She saw a boy, damaged and chafed by the masks her wears. All she wanted was to fix him before he was beyond repair.

Clenching his sanctuary in his arms, he made her forget. Every shard of himself was erased within her. It was all he could do to protect her.

As Shirley tries to bury his image into her mind, she gazed pass his glassy orbs. Broken. That was the only word to describe them. His mask falters as her insides washed out of her limp body, her layers of consciousness stripped away. All she wanted to do was to save him, to love him, to be his heroine. She wanted a happy ending, the one she knew she'll never receive.

"No matter how many times I'm reborn… I'm sure I'll… fall in love again with you, Lulu…" But at least, she could do as much to give him her love, and hopefully from that, his happy ending.

As all deemed as reality slipped from his grasp, he stared into nothingness through closed eyelids. Lelouch had always death was dark and isolated. But soon, he found himself in a wash of light, tender hands embracing him and a gentle voice to assuage his pain.

She dug her face into the pristine white robes that shined of rubies and emeralds. She was not his damsel and he was not her prince.

Thankfully, her happy ending was cliched.

My very first LuluShirley one-shot. I hope ya'll enjoyed it!
