A young prince sat on his throne, dreading what was to come.
Why did he have to do this? What did he do to deserve this? It started when the boy was merely eight years old.
A girl of teal, roughly his age, was introduced to him.
She had a smile on, a sickeningly sweet smile.
They gave the two children three years to interact with each other.
"Make her happy."
"Make him like you."
It ended badly; it was on a summer's day. The day they were to part.
They were eleven years old, but the prince was fed up with the girl; Her annoying, happy-go-lucky attitude was a pain in the ass
So the day came when he proclaimed:
"I don't like you."
Perhaps they were too young. Thought everyone.
When the summer ended, and the prince was a fresh twelve year old, another came.
A maiden of pale pink bowed down in front of him.
Her hair was bright, but the prince could tell
Her personality was not.
An eerie, beautiful voice
"I am pleased to meet you, my prince."
Ugh
"The pleasure is mine, my lady."
Another three years was given to them, and yes, it was better than last time
She wasn't annoying, but she was so
bland
It displeased the prince, so the day they were to part, he spoke of his rejection of her
And he swore, she looked
Happy
And now as of present, he is now fifteen
Today, a lady in yellow, was standing in front of him
She looks like⦠me.
She bowed clumsily and her eyes, so blue, wouldn't meet his
Poor thing
He was dreading this moment, ever since he was informed of it
But as the days went on, he developed a fondness for the girl
One day, he caught her feeding the ducks in his castle's pond And she was laughing, a sweet melodic laugh.
She was happy, and oddly enough, so was he
On another occasion, he heard her singing into the night
And it was beautiful
A year passed, and the prince had noticed something odd
The lady would be flustered every time he would approach her, and his heart would beat rapidly at the sight of her as well
Why?
He also found out that the girl had a pure heart; she would do things that she didn't need to, she was quiet, but not introverted, she opened up to him and so did he to her
He found himself seeking more and more attention from her and she would willingly give it.
He held her hand, so small in his, and they would go out into the town at night
She would laugh, the laugh he loved so much, and they would both be at peace
Soon enough, three years has passed
And that was the day they were wed.
