Why do they hate me so much? It's not as if I've committed the greatest of all sins. What do they blame me for? Give 'Angel' his own series? Is that really SO bad? I just don't understand. When he still was in the BtVS show many claimed he wasn't given enough importance, and now that he is the main character they want to kill me! And don't say it isn't true. Do you really think I haven't read all those 'I hate Joss', 'Joss is the Devil', and many other far less nice things about me on the Net?
I just don't get it.
After 'Surprise' they wanted me to give him back his soul. Didn't I do *exactly* that? It was not my fault if the plot demanded that 'Buffy' had to kill him soon after. Would they have really preferred the world sucked into Hell?? And then I brought him back!!! Even if that meant screwing my own plot I-brought-him-back. I even put Scott out of the picture!! And they still hated me!! Just because I didn't change the curse. But hey! What fun would have been seeing those two screwing around?? The show needed a bit of drama and it was either that or to bring 'Angelus' back. But did they understand me?? Of course not.
And then came the worst.
I admit I was a bit harsh. Making them break up in a sewer of all places... But didn't I leave a bit of hope in their hearts? The dance at the prom, the 'I am sorry-I love you' glance at the end. I even didn't make them say goodbye. but of course, they still hated me, they called me a bastard and other things I really don't want to remember. They kept complaining that I had left 'Buffy' all alone and the thing with Parker infuriated them even more. Then I brought 'Riley' along. How couldn't they see that he was the perfect guy? Nice, good-looking, everything 'Angel' was except for the dark looks and the vampire thing. But did they like him? did they even make an effort to? NO. It didn't even serve that he was a type of warrior, too. Oh no, they wanted him dead. I think there are more fics about his death than about the very Master's. They didn't even complain so much when I made 'Oz' leave and then paired 'little-shy-cute Willow' with a *girl*.
Oh! And how can we forget the death threats in my mail after ' I Will Remember You'. I try to give them what they wanted and how do they pay me back? More insults. I really regret ever airing that episode. They just didn't deserve it.
Then came the whole Initiative thing. I really thought it was a good idea. Doesn't everyone love 'X-Files'? What was wrong having the government aware of *my* world's secrets? But they hated the idea as much as they hated Buffy's new boyfriend. They even wrote about 'Buffy' destroying it *before* I even thought about it. The only thing that made them happy were the rumors about Riley transforming into a monster of sorts; but when I didn't make 'Buffy' kill him they hated me even more.
And now we are in Season 5.
Do they worry about Buffy's 'new sister'? Or about her mother's illness? Does it matter that Buffy can't seem to defeat her new nemesis? Of course not. The only reaction I receive was when I make 'Riley' *donate* his blood ( They were the first compliments since 'What's my Line' ) and after 'Into the Woods' and even that was mixed. Some congratulated me for 'having regained my mind' and some said it was unfair to make Buffy the one to blame. I just don't understand. I make the guy leave and even then they tell me I'm at fault. I don't know... if they keep being so nasty I just might bring Riley back.
