Sunlight beamed in through the open shades on the window. Unfortunately for Hermione the warm sunlight hitting her face was also brighter than her sleeping body could tolerate. Groggily she opened her eyes, balling a fist to rub them. She yawned as her one arm came from under the warmth of her blankets to roam the top of her night stand. Barely flicking her wand, she effectively closed the blinds with a quick snap. Stretching slightly she rolled over to face her sleeping husband, a smile gracing her face at the sight before her. Her lips ghosted over his cheek and down to his lips.
With a deep intake of breath he opened his eyes, waking from his slumber. "Morning," he spoke against her lips.
"No," she whispered as she buried her face into his chest.
He raised an eyebrows, "No?"
"I don't want to get up," she could barely be heard as she burrowed down more into the blankets.
Draco chuckled at the her, a mess of curls and soft skin,"It's Sunday, love. We don't have to."
Her head came up slowly, "Good, because I'm not leaving this bed today."
"Oh really?" He loved these days. Their lives were always so busy and hectic, and his wife was never one to slow down. She was always helping someone, working too hard, or gaining more knowledge with the help of the Malfoy library. So days where she wanted to do nothing but stay in bed with him, those were his personal favorites.
"Really," she was peaking one eye up at him, the curve if her smile just barely seen by him.
"Okay."
They both relaxed, a clutter of limbs as they tangled themselves around each other. And all was peaceful until...
"Daddy? Mummy?" A little voice woke up the sleeping couple.
Draco turned his head to see the small girl standing in the doorway. A worn, stuffed bear dangling from one hand. He knew she would make her way to them eventually. The four year old knew if she didn't hear them up and about, they would be here still. And she always came running if she thought it was going to be a day spent cuddling in bed. She waited patiently for one of her parents to address her. Draco spoke first, "Come on sweetheart, come here." He patted the side of the bed.
A brilliant smile broke out across her face as she ran to the bed as fast as her small, chubby legs could go. With a great leap she jumped onto the tall bed. Draco having to help pull her up.
Hermione grabbed her daughter suddenly, pulling her down in between them. Her fingers tickled her stomach, making the little girl giggle loudly. Smiles on all three faces.
"Lazy day?" The little girl smiled up at her mother, asking a question that she hoped would have a positive answer.
She nodded. "Lazy day, love." Hermione smiled. These were her favorite days. And she couldn't think of a better way to spend them.
