Summary: If a dog jumps in your lap, it's because he's fond of you. If a cat does the same thing, it means your lap is warmer.

Jet is well aware of Katara's feelings for him; hell, he'd have to be blind to not be very, very much aware of them. The word 'subtle' is clearly not in her vocabulary.

Not that it matters.

Katara, Jet has decided, is kind of like a dog. She's warm and affectionate and all she wants is for you to melt at the sight of her big puppy-eyes so that you'll pat her on the head.

Too bad Jet's never really liked dogs.

In all honesty, he's more of a cat person.

Dogs are soppy and loyal and obedient and friendly, which is all good and well. Loyalty is something Jet can respect. Obedience is a nice enough trait.

But dogs are friendly with almost everyone. If a dog jumps in your lap, it's because he's fond of you. When he can't have your lap, he's just fine with someone else's.

Cats, on the other hand, are snobby and proud and independent and bitchy. They're fine on their own, but they'll take what you give them and they'll steal what you won't.

But cats aren't friendly with just anybody. You have to coax them and bribe them, and once they come, you have to lavish them with more attention than anyone else can, or they'll leave.

If a dog jumps in your lap, it's because he's fond of you. If a cat does the same thing, it means your lap is warmer.

It takes a hell of a long time to convince Zuko that his lap is the warmest.

Katara falls in love with a new boy every month, and she loves them all, even after they break her heart, or they breaks her's. Because that's just how dogs are.

Zuko doesn't let himself love anyone or anything, and when people say they love him, he can't believe them. Proof is required. Because that's just how cats are.

Jet hates to admit it, but it makes him more than just a little smug, knowing that Zuko thinks his lap is better than that girl in Ba Sing Se.

So when Katara stares at him with wide, teary eyes and sobs, "Don't you know how I feel about you?" he smirks, says, "Yeah. I do," and hauls Zuko in for another kiss.

He'll always like cats more than dogs.

Fear the Jetko drabbles! For they are eternal love!

But really, I tried writing something amusing. Did it work?

Really though, there just aren't enough fics about this pairing! Such a shame. Never fear though; I shall right this wrong!

Review please, dahlings, or I might just go full-blown emo.

And that would make for boring stories.
