Ok, so I know I said I wouldn't be updating anything with my sprained finger and all, but I had to do this! Avengers belongs to Marvel, Marvel belongs to Disney. Ok, so here's yet another overused plot for a story. Hope you all enjoy!
Steve was busy packing an extra pair of clothes in a bag. It was his favorite holiday, the 4th of July. Clint and Bruce were getting picnic supplies while Natasha gathered the fireworks. But Tony was nowhere to be found. Thor was still in Asgard, preparing for the picnic in Central Park. He and Natasha still felt a little uncomfortable about America's holiday, but both loved the country very much anyway.
Soon the whole group was gather next to a small pond, chattering away on a picnic blanket. Clint scarfed down a chicken leg very loudly. Everybody was growing worried about where Tony was, but decided to let it be. He was probably in some other country or had just all together forgotten. But Steve had other thoughts. He kept his bag close to him, with something that may come in handy. A loaded water gun lay in Bruce's lap, prepared to soak Stark if he showed up. It was revenge for when he had dyed Bruce's green tea the color green. He "accidentally" let the other guy slip out and "smash" Stark.
"Oh God guys, I'm so bored! Can't we play Frisbee or something?" Clint's whine rang out. Natasha slapped him on the back of the head, causing a groan from Clint and a laugh from Thor.
"Indeed. I as well wish to play this game of Frisbee!" Thor boomed. Steve grinned and pulled an orange Frisbee out of his bag and tossed it towards Clint, who nearly dropped his chicken leg as he jumped up to catch it. Soon everybody was up and playing. Nobody noticed the pair of brown eyes spying on them from behind some bushes. Minutes turned into hours, and soon the sun was going down. The Avengers had all agreed it was time to set the fireworks off. Thor was confuses as to why you had to blow things up to show your love for a country. Was it symbolic? A metaphor? He opened his mouth to ask was was cut off by the piercing shriek of it being lit and set off. Oh, that was why they loved it so much.
The Manhattan sky was filled with beautiful colors of red, white, and blue. The Avengers all sat next to each other on the blanket and watched silently. Yeah, Cap still loved America.
"I GOT YA!" A voice rang out as the Super Soldier was tackled to the ground. The Avenger were up and in a defensive position immediately, but groaned when they saw it was just Tony. "Did ya miss me? Wait, don't answer that. Of course you did! It must've been so boring without-" He was interrupted when he got a splash of water to the face by none other than Banner himself, who was laugh hysterically.
No, America hadn't changed too much since the war. Everybody were still idiots and patriotic to the core. Cap smiled to himself as Bruce chased a screaming Tony Stark around with a water gun and the rest the Avengers eventually pinned Tony down. Yeah, this was definitely his favorite holiday.
It was cute but short. Sorry about that. I really hope you guys enjoyed it! Well, there ya go!
