A/N: This is my entry for the third fanfic challenge on the "Chit Chat on Author's corner" forum. The characters were: JJ and Prentiss with the prompts/items:a picnic, a teddy bear, and a parenting magazine. Oh, and just so you know, the pairing here is Emily/Reid. NOTE: I don't own CM, and as usual, this is unbeta'ed. Let me know what you thought!
Begin:
"Hey Emily,"JJ greeted as she sat down next to her, Spence, and their beautiful daughter, who was playing with a worn teddy bear.
"Oh, hey,"Emily answered. JJ glanced at Spence to find that he was flipping through the pages of a magazine at his quick pace.
"Spence, stop it."Emily tried in vain to grab it from him, but he was just out of her reach.
"What is that?"JJ asked.
"A parenting magazine,"Emily answered with a roll of her eyes,"He won't stop reading them."
Spence paid no attention to them, instead he stood swiftly, and still reading, walked over to sit next to Hotch and Jack on the next blanket.
Emily sighed and shook her head,"Was Will ever like that?"
"No,"JJ said,"But Will is a lot more mature then Spence."
"I heard that!"He called to them, eyes still flickering across the page. A smile broke onto both the women's faces.
A sharp, gleeful giggle rang out from Cindy, causing them both to look down at her. Their smiles grew bigger at the sight of her banging the old teddy halfheartedly on the picnic blanket.
"Shes so precious,"JJ couldn't help but say.
"I know,"Emily said with misty eyes.
JJ knew exactly how much this meant to Emily. She knew Emily felt guilty to this day about getting an abortion, and it was nice to see that Emily had her dream. A family.
