disclaimer: I don't own Fruits Basket. If I did, Kyo and Tohru would be together already.

When the renovations were finally finished, Yumi was able to move back in with her grandfather. Though sad to leave the Shindou home, she did not wish to impose on their hospitality any longer, so she left. Very shortly after she left, a day at the most, Kei and Toshi decided to work together on what Kisuke called "Operation: Save the Princess."

Tohru sat at her computer, writing yet another story. In the ten years since she had met the Sohma family, she had written down everything she learned, hoping that it would help her find a way to break the family curse. Now she used those notes to write novels about the adventures she had in High School with the family. She leaned back, stretching her legs. Her now long hair was piled high on her head in a messy bun, help up by a pencil twisted and tucked. As she continued to type, she didn't notice when a man entered the house and walk right behind her.

"How's it going?" He gently pulled her face to the side so he could lean down and kiss her.

"Kyo, you're home early." Tohru smiled at him, saved her work and stood. "I'm sorry I don't have supper ready for you."

"That's fine. I had something different in mind." He grinned. Tohru backed away, knowing what his 'something different' usually was, but he caught her easily. "Come on, you. We're going to have some fun."

"No Kyo! I have too much work to do!" Tohru protested, but to no avail. Kyo just kept dragging her towards the door.

"We'll be done in plenty of time for you to work on that book. Now lets go!" Opening the door, he pulled her towards the car.

"Why do we always have to go play when I'm working?" Tohru complained. Kyo just grinned as he drove. "Fine, I'll do it, but I won't like it." She finally submitted to his insisting. The rest of the drive was spent with them silently listening to the radio. At a small costume store, they stopped.

"We're here!" Kyo announced.

"So, it's Kyo in Ayame's shop with the rope, am I right?" She asked, trying not to show a glimmer of mirth in her eyes.

"Maybe, maybe not." Kyo responded, straight-faced. Before Tohru could protest a clear answer, someone ran out of the shop, waving madly.

"Yay! You're here, Tohru-chan, Kyo-kun! I though you'd never make it!" Kagura called. "Come on in. We're finished setting up."

"Hello, Kagura-san." Tohru greeted, still glaring at Kyo. Still, she followed him into the store and saw that everyone else was already there. Heading for the back, she changed into her costume and came back, taking a seat at the huge table.

"Now that we're all here, we can begin!" Momiji called out happily. He handed each of the guests a scorecard. From the deck, they drew in turn until no cards remained. Then, the game began.

Why do we always have to play Clue when I have work to do? Tohru thought as she allowed herself to enjoy the game.

hehe. what do you think? constructive criticism, no flames please. Flames don't get you anywhere. Helpful advice make my writing better. Flames make me write more crap to spite the flamers.
