Title: UFB

Spoilers: I've only seen the first two episodes of Enterprise so there can't be too many spoilers.

Rating: G

Summary: Trip goes through with a threat and Porthos goes into the record books.

Disclaimer: I don't own Enterprise or any its characters. At the moment I have no money so it's a waste of time to sue me.

Author's Note: I know that the characters are probably out of character but I have only seen two episodes. This story probably isn't going to ever happen on the show and isn't meant to be taken seriously.

UFB

Captain Jonathon Archer was running through the halls of the Starship Enterprise frantically yelling out, "Here, Porthos!"

"A problem, Captain?" T'Pol asked stopping to stare at him.

"My dog is missing," Archer sighed. "I can't find him anywhere."

"Maybe you should try Engineering," T'Pol suggested. "I believe Commander Tucker was talking to a piece of machinery a few minutes ago."

"Thanks, T'Pol." Archer jogged to the lift and took it down to Engineering.

As soon as he walked in Commander 'Trip' Tucker shoved a brown and white bundle into his arms.

"If I ever see that mutt in Engineering again, then I'll throw it out the airlock," Trip threatened. "That's the 5th time this week I've had to chase it around Engineering. I've got work to do, you know."

"Sorry, Trip. It won't happen again," Archer promised.

"Yeah,:" Trip muttered. "That's what you said last time, and the time before that, and the time before that."

A week later Archer was again searing for his runaway dog when he got a call from T'Pol calling him to the bridge.

"Sir, we've got a UFB on sensors," Mayweather said when the captain walked onto the bridge.

"A UFB?" Archer asked.

"Unidentified Flying Beagle, sir," Mayweather said with a grin. "He's not in any danger. He can breathe just fine through the oxygen mask someone put on him. Should we beam him in?"

"With the transporter?" Archer asked.

"I don't think we've got anything else to beam him in with, sir," Mayweather said sarcastically.

"Do it," Archer said.

Reed's fingers danced over the console. Then he looked up and said, "We've got him. He's in sickbay. He's perfectly fine."

"Perhaps you should take more care to keep your dog in your quarters, Captain," T'Pol said.

"I am gonna kill Trip," Archer growled and then marched off the bridge.

"Should we warn Trip?" Reed asked Mayweather.

"No. Let him suffer a bit. At least he put an oxygen mask on the dog," Mayweather said.

A few hours later, after rescuing Porthos from Doctor Phlox and venting his anger on Trip, Archer was relaxing in his quarters with Porthos in his lap. Porthos didn't seem the least bit worse for wear after his little adventure and was his normal cute self.

"So Porthos," the captain said. "How does it feel to be the first dog to be broken down into molecules and put back together?"

Porthos licked his hand in reply. Archer laughed. "When we get back to Earth you're going in the record books."
