Regret

L looked at Light quizzically for a moment before finally handing him the mask dangling from his pale fingers. It was a rather ugly thing, if Light did say so himself. He would have guessed that it was a panda only he wouldn't be surprised if it turned out not to be. He desperately looked at the detective; L didn't really want him to put this thing on, did he?
"Ryuzaki, is this truly necessary?" He scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"I've put aside a number of things in order for this to work out but there is one thing I cannot put aside at this moment. You wished to help, did you not? No matter, you still are required to put on that mask in order to keep your identity hidden. I am terrible sorry for whatever inconvenience these handcuffs must be putting you through, hopefully we will both adapt soon." L said putting on his own mask.
Was that a chicken? Light tried to shake the idiot thought from his mind. He watched as the raven haired man bent over his knees, attempting to reach the power button on the small laptop, not pausing for his friend to finish adjusting the panda over his face.
The college students mind wondered, looking over the former, questioning his structure so well hidden by his baggy white shirts.
