A/N: Okay, so this one I whipped up in about like what? 10 minutes? When I looked over it again, it had so many mistakes, I couldn't believe it. Bleh, I felt stupid. But they're fixed enough to post here, so yeah. This is kind of a joke. I wanted to do a back story on that lady who screamed "Burglars!" in The Earth King when Sokka was looking through the rooms when they were invading the palace. Because I love back stories on random background characters. And I love that chick. It's kinda morbid in the beginning, don't ask me why, but then it get's kinda funny in the end maybe. It's really random. No flamers please, and don't forget to review!
Burglars!
OoOoOoO
A crash. That was all she heard. She thought maybe the cat had gotten loose again and was going through the trash. The 9-year-old girl crept down stairs with a broom, intent on shooing it back outside.
The candle was lit. Why was the candle lit? Cats can't light candles. She hid just behind the corner to the kitchen. She heard deep breathing. She took a peek. A man dressed in black was searching through her drawers. A man in black.
Burglars! She was scared for her life. She wanted to go back upstairs and inform her parents, but she was rooted to the spot. Burglars were in her house.
She managed to take a step backwards and a loud creek issued from the old floorboards. Dang floorboards! she thought. She immediately froze.
The man stopped. He thought he heard a creaking noise. He turned and crept towards the corner. The girl could feel the man coming closer. She wanted to move, to run, but she found that her limbs would not move.
The man finally made it past the corner and found a girl holding a broom. He stopped and stared. She looked into his dark eyes. She was terrified. He grabbed her and held his hand over her mouth.
"You're not going to tell anyone I'm here, okay? You're going to go back upstairs, crawl into your little bed, and go back to sleep. Do you understand?"
She nodded.
"Good. Go." He shoved her up the stairs and headed back into the kitchen. The man in black jumped out the window and fled into the night.
The woman stared at herself in the mirror 20 years later. She was still mortified of anybody breaking into her house. She supposed that it was impossible now that she lived in the Earth King's palace. The place was littered with guards; no one could possibly break in.
Then she heard a commotion outside of her door. What was going on? Suddenly the door clicked. In popped the head of a young man, with the side of his head shaved and the rest of his hair in a ponytail.
Oh no. "BURGLARS!" She couldn't help but scream as she threw her hands in the air and fell to the floor. Not again.
