A/N: Okay, you know this was going to happen. Since it's fathers day and since we lost our dad so long ago (Yes my imaginary life leaks into my real life. Shut up! It makes it more interesting.) I thought I would do a little tribute to Franz. I know it's short. I didn't plan for it to be long and it's not perfect anyways. The drabble takes place after fifth season. As usual I own nothing but Ashleigh, who I'm not describing because she's barely in the fanfic. I mean seriously, if I owned Code Lyoko, X.A.N.A. would be destroyed permently. Read and enjoy.

One-Shot

It was an early morning at Kadic Academy. Everyone was sleeping peacefully, trying to catch up on lost sleep from the numerous school work and other things they may have going on. Everyone except for one troubled soul.

Aelita's eyes fluttered open to the dull colored sky. As she looked to her alarm clock, she saw it was too early for her to even try to get up. Falling back to sleep sounded easier then it was. Whenever Aelita tried to go back to dream land, she was woken up again. Whether it was the showers running or her sister's snoring, she just couldn't find a way to get back to sleep.

Finally, she just gave up and started to stare at the ceiling. Aelita kept her attention there for a fairly long time before looking at the calendar. She already knew she wasn't going to be met with cheerful date. It was that third Sunday in June. Without waking her roommate up, Aelita got up and made her way to the window.

She opened it to get some fresh air in, but ended up just looking out into space. How long has it been since her father gave up his life for her and the rest of humanity? Maybe a little over a year, if she remembered correctly. Despite everything he ended up putting her and her closest friends through, through all the trouble and stress, she was happy he did such a thing. She knew her father loved her so by putting her through that, she met the best friends she would have in the world, not to mention an amazing adventure that no one could ever live up to.

Now every time Aelita saw a little kid with their father, she had this sense of emptiness in her heart. It was not curable because she knew she would never see her father again. It may be selfish, but all she wanted was to see her father again. She just wanted to be held by him just like before. She wanted to hear his stories about all the different kinds of mythology he knew. She wanted to be told everything would turn out fine, even on the stormiest of days. She couldn't even get that from her mother anymore since she turned her back on them. And Ashleigh wasn't the best source of a parent…It seemed that Aelita was more like the parent between the two sisters. But she knew as much as she longed for her father to come back, this pain will never disappear.

"Happy father's day Daddy…"
