A/N: I wrote this a long time ago but recently edited it whilst sat in English class when I was supposed to be reading a play. I hope you like it. There is no speech whatsoever but I hope it's not bad. Reviews would be mightily appreciated.

Disclaimed: I don't own Criminal Minds. If I did, all the Hotly shippers would be sad and with their Hotly.

Silently judging. That is what everyone was doing. He could feel the stares he got from people as he walked the halls. Ever since her was young, he could feel the stares, the judging. Fellow agents scattered down hallways and offices often stared as he walked by, his team mates would soon become tired of his statistics and his rambling and either tell him to shut up or interrupt him. The was until one agent joined the BAU. SSA Emily Prentiss.

Of course she stared at him, but she didn't judge him. She stared in wonder. When he rambled, she would listen in fascination. He started to realise he stopped correcting her science after a while when she told the stories and tales she knew. He just listened as she spoke, taking in the words and how her lips moved. How her eyes sparkled whilst she was reciting the stories, how her hands would make gestures in the air. She was the first person he'd felt truly comfortable around.

It started with just coffee, just a cup at the local coffee shop. It transformed into lunches; dinners when the got off work early enough. They started spending more and more time together, neither one really paying much attention to what was happening. After their lunches and dinners, it transformed into spending hours in each others company, watching films or talking. They soon came to the realisation that not only were they co-workers and friends, they were best friends.

Case after case at work shortened their time together outside of work. They both noticed how boring it was, no one to talk to when they got home, no dinners with each other after work. Spencer also started noticing the stares again.

He had confided in Emily about the staring, about being the only person truly interested in what he had to say. He told her this and that was when they slowly became closer as friends. He noticed that out of all the stares he'd ever gotten, Emily Prentiss' was his favourite.

A few months went by and Spencer and Emily had gotten mainly back to their old routine. Before long, both Emily and Spencer started to figure out that their feelings towards one another weren't purely best friend feelings. They were falling for each other. They knew how cliche it was to fall for your best friend, but that is what happened.

One night, they were hanging out at Emily's brownstone, watching a film. Spencer knew Emily could feel the tension rolling off of him in waves. He could feel it rolling off of her too. They both slowly, tentatively, turned towards one another and leant in. Spencer watched as Emily licked her lips. They locked eyes once again and they lightly pressed their lips to each others.

A/N: Well there you have it. I actually have no idea whether it's good or not. It's not very long but I wrote it on my phone a while back and just decided to post it.
