A flush of air greeted you as you walked through the doors to your job for another day of work. You greeted your fellow co-workers and made your way through the halls, finding the nearest Elevator and stepping inside. You pressed the button indicating it to take you to the fifth floor, before the doors shut and you were left to wait.

This job; it wasn't exactly a choice; you were told you would be of great use to the organisation, and through it, you could help make the world into a better one. You had a feeling there was much more to it, but it was an ultimatum, either work here, get a decent pay and stay out of harm's way, or, get taken in by force, with no pay. You thought it best to pick the first option as you didn't really want to be held hostage, even though you already were, in a way. Plus, two of your sort-of relatives worked here, and without them, you doubt you'd get half of what you got paid, and you didn't get paid much.

Yes, as you may have guessed, you work for Abstergo industries.

Yaaay.

You were a research analyst/subject, the research, not so much you're doing, more of your ancestors doing. Your mission; to retrieve the Grand Temple Key, you had no idea what it is or what it's for, but you preferred not to ask any questions on the matter.

You preferred to observe and take notes; without their knowledge, of course.

The elevator stopped and the doors shot open, you made your way out of the elevator and toward your boss's office, ready to be incubated into one the Animi. If you weren't being professional, you wouldn't call him your boss, but we'll leave that for later.

Right on time, the intercom sounded and you heard the familiar voice of your boss, Warren Vidic.

"Can Subject 21 please report to my office to be incubated for further research, thank you"

You rolled your eyes and continued on to your destination, he always an impatient bastard.

You turned the last corner and you were finally face to face with the door to Vidic's office.

You take a deep breath and proceed to knock on the door, but you're caught before your able to even touch the door.

"Come in"

You sigh and open the door, Vidic's at his desk, busy writing up a document of some sort, probably about his most recent findings toward the Temple Key.

You shut the door, it's the click that makes him finally look up and meet your gaze.

He puts on a smile; but you know it's just a façade.

"Good morning (Name)"

"Vidic" You reply, waiting for him to cut to the chase so you can get this day over with.

He mildly scoffs in amusement, it was a recurring thing between you two, and after all, he was one of the people that brought you here in the first place, so you held a grudge toward him.

"Oh, come now. You know you don't have to call me that"

You sigh, reluctantly putting on a fake smile before replying.

"Sorry, Grandfather."
