Incomplete Story

Dee Dee

Today is the first of October. I walked home from school by myself, ready to do my homework and study. My grades are always high, but I want to be better, so I can go to a great college. My route to my house passes by the Gallagher Academy.

I still remember when Cammie Solomon broke up with Josh. Her agreement to go to the Spring Fling with Zach, but she didn't come. She must have laughed that we believed she wasn't a Gallagher Girl. A rich snob, as Dillon puts in. But Cammie was friendly, nice even, and it made me jealous. Senior year grades were well, but Josh thought of me as a friend, not more than one.

Suddenly, I heard the sound of a helicopter blades turning, and I look up as it got louder. A black helicopter is coming closer, toward me, and I start to take a step back. What if it was going to kidnap me, or why was it here?

Well, neither of that happened, because it slowed down to move right, above the Gallagher Academy. The place must have enough money to have a ride like that. I expected it's a joy ride, and a few students are going to come out. To see it, I managed to climb up the wall enough to peek at the events. What I see makes me surprised.

The helicopter landed on the manicured lawn and the blades slowly stop turning. Almost a crowd of girls and a few teachers waited, as the door opens. Out stepped a girl with bluntly cut hair and comfortable looking clothes. She hesitated before stepping onto the lawn. An older, beautiful woman in a coat came out, and shutted the door before the ground swallows the helicopter whole, and the grass lawn replaced it.

My jaw dropped. What was happening?

"Oh my gosh!" A blonde girl with a soft Southern accent ran up to the girl, and I nearly lost my grip on the stone to hug the girl. Another girl with supermodel quality reached out to the girl's hair, and said something in a quiet voice. It's Macey McHenry, I realized. What I just saw is completely abnormal for me. The Gallagher Academy is a school for young heiresses. More like it was now.

The girl whose being hugged to death by her two friends broke free, and began to walk to someone, and yelled, "Bex!"A dark beauty has her arms crossed, and I thought: They're friends. I piece together the voice.

It's Cammie. She looks paler than usual despite how far they are from what I saw. A slight limp is on her as she walked to Bex, the girl I saw who told her they had to go back in my sophomore year.

Cammie laughs, and said something uncomprehending. My hands and arms were aching from the long time I hung on, watching, as the girl turned away to the woman, and nodded. Cammie is ushered into the Gallagher Academy with her friends, and all the girls leave. Before the woman passes by the door, she turned around and looked straight at me.

I'm frozen. Her neutral stare turned into a sad smile, and she closed the doors. I fall back to the floor with a new bruise, and dusted myself off. A lot of questions are being asked in my head, but now, only one stood out.

What do they do in the Gallagher Academy?
