Summary: Harm says thank you to a special person.
Disclaimer: The JAG characters aren't mine, and unfortunatly never will be.
Set after Critical Condition. I just think the ending needed a little more.
Harm sat down suddenly, tears pouring down his cheeks. The emotions he'd been hiding poured out, his frustration at not being able to do anything for Bud, his fears, his guilt. He heard Mac call his name, worridly, then felt her sit down beside him. He couldn't say anything, he voice too choked with emotion. He just pulled her close to him. She stroked the back of his head gently, then moved down to rub her hand round in circles in the middle of his back. They sat in companionable silence for ages, Harms shoulders occasionally shaking with fresh tears. If anyone saw them, the friends were ignored.
Mac watched him, silently. Comforting him as best she could without words. She knew this was a hurt that could not be healed through talk. Then, quietly, he began to speak, " Mac?" He asked, he voice broken with tears.
" Yeah Harm?" She said gently, hugging him.
" Can I have a tissue?"
She looked up at him and smiled, a little laugh escaping her, " Sure." She rubbed his back again, then got up, " C'mon, lets see if we can't get you cleaned up."
He sniffed then got up. They both turned at looked at the door into the medical bay, and Harm spun round quickly, feeling tears well up again in his eyes, "We have to tell Coates and Harriet."
Mac nodded, " And one of us has to face the wrath of the Admiral."
" Me." Harm said immeadiatly.
" We'll see." Mac sounded so motherly that Harm couldn't help grinning, "Come on sqyuid, let's go find some tissues." She turned around, and harm grabbed her wrist. She turned to look at him.
" Thanks." He said quietly, in a small, childlike voice.
She nodded.
