"Today is the going to be the best day of my life. I'm marrying the man I love" Kurt exclaimed with glee as he hugged his two best friends Rachel and Mercedes.
"Just not the love of your life" Burt Hummel muttered in the background.
"Dad, don't start. Bl-he didn't want me"
"But-"
"No! Today I am going to walk down that aisle to marry the man I love, surrounded by our friends and family and nothing is going to ruin that for me.! Got that?"
Carole Hudson walked into the room, slightly flustered and proceeded towards her stepson.
"Kurt, someone dropped this off, said it's from Adam" handing over a bulky white envelope.
Grabbing the envelope, Kurt opened it and looked inside. Frowning, he dug his hand inside and pulled out a silver ring band. Adam's engagement ring.
Placing the ring on the end of his middle finger, he pulled out the piece of paper from the envelope and opened it.
Kurt,
So today we were suppose to start of our lives together, growing old side by side, but we both know it's not me you want to marry. It's Blaine.
I know this is the cowardly's way out, but as you read this letter I will already be on my way to Boston. To start my life, without you.
One last thing, I want you to walk down that aisle and to alter and be prepared to get married, but not to me.
Don't worry I made all the right arrangements and told your father and friends not to tell you. Don't be mad at them, they just want you to be happy...with the right person.
I hope you have a happy life together and know that you will always be in my heart.
Goodbye Kurt Hummel
Love always,
Adam
By the time he finished reading the letter tears were already falling down his pale face.
"Kurt, honey, what does it say?"
Dropping the letter to the floor, moments later the sound the clatter of the silver wedding band landing on the wooden floor.
Kurt walked over to the dressing table and stared into the mirror. His cheeks damp and wet from crying.
Behind Rachel and Mercedes did their best to console their friend.
"Kurt-"
Wiping away the fallen tears, Kurt turned round and stared at his friends "Well what is everyone waiting for? There's a wedding to take place"
Almost immediately Rachel began pushing Burt and Carole out of the room and started barking orders at Mercedes, who began milling around Kurt.
"Right ladies, it's time to get married"
Fifteen minutes later Kurt walked down the aisle, his father by his side.
Just as Adam had told him, he wasn't at the end of the aisle. In his place was the most beautiful man he had ever laid eyes on in his life.
Dark curls gelled back, smiling shyly back at him was the boy - no man he thought he had lost forever.
Blaine Anderson.
Once they had reached the end of the aisle, Burt kissed Kurt's cheek and shook Blaine's hands.
"Take care of my son"
"Always" with that Burt took his seat next to his wife, Carole and watched his son marry the love of his life.
After more than six years been apart Kurt finally had Blaine back and he wasn't going to let him go.
"Hey, you ready for this" Blaine whispered
"I was ready the moment I stopped you on the staircase at Dalton"
Grinning like mad men, Blaine reached his hand out towards Kurt, who in return grabbed the offered hand and together they turned towards the priest.
At the back of the chapel, in the shadows Adam watched with happiness as Kurt and Blaine became Mr Hummel-Anderson, and began their lives together. Glad that he was able to reunite the two lovers. No-one noticed him in the back, nor saw him walk out into the busy street to begin his new life.
