Dean had never been a religious man, He sat through Sunday mass and couldn't believe how thousands of people could so easily believe in something they only had a book of children stories to base it off of. In his eyes, seeing was believing and what he had seen was all the pain that was in the world, and the terrible things that had caused it. If there was a god, none of this would happen, at least in his head.. He refused to believe. Then, Dean Winchester went to hell, he screamed, and he even prayed to be saved, but he had put hell on his own shoulders and it wasn't getting off anytime soon. He woke up in a pine, homemade coffin, confused. He made his way out, fought through hell to get back to the only family he had left, his brother. Then, Dean Winchester came face to face with the one thing he refused to believe in, an angel of the lord. He and that angel, Castiel, went through even more then Dean could even began to imagine. Him and Sam parted ways, and Castiel was there for him, for awhile at least. The brothers reunited, and Cas remained by his side. That angel and the man he raised from the depths of hell fought together, they grew closer then they should have, though they both tried to fight it. Dean thought it was wrong, him being attracted to a man (if you could call Cas that) after being a womanizer for so long, that man being something supernatural also didn't help. But they got closer, and even the angel fought it, knowing it wouldn't end well for the human or himself, and one day that happened. God found the relationship between the hunter and his guardian wrong, so he called the angel back to heaven where he belonged, and he had no choice but to listen. There where no goodbyes, Dean came home and the angel was gone. No warning. He waited for weeks for his angel to return, but he never did. Dean now had a reason to believe, a reason to pray. To get his angel back to him.
