Slight Alteration of the Truth.

A/n - A short drabble I was inspiried to write last night. Enjoy!

Inside their majesties' private guest parlor, Kally stares at the spot the Lioness had occupied not a minute past. 'Nobody talks to Pa like that," she breathes. The girl faces Aly who in turn shrugs.

Just a minute ago, Alanna the Lioness had fumed with anger. "Surely not," she had cried, outraged.

"I am afraid so," Jon told his Champion and friend.

Without a glance at the children playing behind them, Alanna had shared her views on the matter and proceeded to leave, slamming the door shut behind her.

"If you think the Lioness has a temper, you should see Da when she's gone," Aly says in all seriousness.

"But your Da is so...," Aly watches as Kally struggles to find the right word, "nice."

Aly shakes her head repetitively. "Nuh-uh."

Kally frowns, looking ever so pretty as she does so. Just as she once saw a courtier do, Kally straightens her skirts and sits upright. "Do explain," she says, intrigued.

Nearly as quickly as her mother can wield a sword, Aly's eyes slit from side to side, checking for any unwanted (or parental) ears.

"Well," Aly pauses for effect. "When there is someone my Da isn't too fond of…" Aly pulls a face; her lips grimace, her eyes are wide and deadly serious. Slowly she slides a single finger across her neck; much like a knife would slit one.

Kally's mouth hands agape. "Not your Da!"

Nodding, Aly confirms, "My Da." She enjoys watching Kally's reaction to what may be a slight alteration of the truth.

Unaware of her father's presence, Kally continues to express her shock. Jon watches them for a while longer before fondly chuckling and leaving them be.
