Author's notes: I think that the couple idea of ReixAmi isn't
used very often, so I wrote something for it...the pain of keeping something
to yourself, keeping it unspoken until finally, it's impossible to say
it...
-Note 2- I was challenged to write a fic where the maximum of sentences
allowed per paragraph would be three. Now, this was how it turned
out...
. . .
Alone she sat, hugging her knees tightly to her bosom, black silken hair cascaded around her and from her exotic, dark, haunting eyes, tears fell.
Usagi was someone she could run to when she felt like this, but this...
Rei shook her head. This was too personal, too...
MInako would laugh if she saw her like this. She would say it was too unlike Rei to act like this.
What if she knew? What if her love knew that a fellow sailor scout was a lesbian, one other than Haruka and Michiru? Would she be freaked out...?
Her love. The woman of soft blue hair she so wished to rake her hands through, gentle, equally blue eyes, twin pools of clear blue water...
Mizuno Ami.
Ami, the one she loved.
Move reats fell and a sob cracked through her soft
pink lips. What could possibly have gone through her mind to let
the princess of Mercury unknowingly steal her heart?
Surely the other scouts would disapprove if they
knew.
Or would they...?
They accepted that Haruka and Michiru were in love, so, would they really reject her?
The raven haired scout blinked. No, they would not. All the scouts accepted people for who they were.
She smiled. That's how they were, because they themselves were made up of a wide variety of people.
A knock resounded from her bedroom door, and she ignored it. She did not notice when the door opened and someone's heart wrenched at the sight of her in her current state.
"...Rei?"
The priestess' eyes rose and gazed in the direction of the speaker's voice. When she realized who's it was, her already vulnerable, depressed form curled up and pressed closer to the wall.
"Rei, what's wrong?" Her kind voice spoke, her blue eyes concerned.
A tear fell silently from her eyes. "Go away Ami," she spoke softly.
Rei did not want her to find out. She couldn't find out!
The blue haired scout took a step back from Rei's quiet words, her heart aching to hhelp her secret love.
Ami turned away before she revealed it with her eyes. "...I came because I was worried."
Another tear from dark eyes. "Go away," were the spoken words. Away before I let out the secret that would ruin our friendship...the secret that brings such pain to keep.
The words stung, but she stayed. The princess of Mercury stayed with her back to the priestess. "Rei--"
"Get out! Go away!" Rei screamed, upset. "Leave me alone!"
Unable to take the pain caused by those words, Ami ran. Rei slammed her bedroom door shut and weeped into wood and paint.
It would never work...and she couldn't...
...couldn't risk being rejected.
