Most of the creatures and abilities you will find here are from the 3.5 edition
A young human taken in by a powerful Paragon Ulitharid or more commonly know to other spices as an elite form of Mind Flayer is, to say the least an interesting lifestyle. This story will tell of many adventures Yiliaster as he serves under such a being.
Middark an unpleasant location far beneath the common lands. In these lands, the drow seems to wield the most power despite the constant infighting. But today in the trading city of Mantol-Derith a vicious drow slaver by the name of Luanel Rhomdaen is currently doing what she does best, selling slaves. There are many slaves in the cages lined up with several large wagons. The races of the slaves very in both age and sizes. There are Minotaurs, Lizardfolk, Troglodyte and other various races but there appears to only be one human left.
The human is a young child 5 years of age with pale skin covered in dirt with dark grey eyes, back hair messy and greasy. He is wearing simple brown rags, his hands cuffed and chained to the bared of the cage. The boy also had a wooden sign displaying his name "Yiliaster" worn around his neck with no last name being displayed.
The child had a very grim look about it and it's not just because several strangers were eyeing him like a piece of meat but also he had just been separated from his parents a week earlier as they were bought by some drow who needed extra slaves to work in her house.
It's truly is a terrifying sight to see and traumatizing for a young child. But that fear only intensified when a male drow opened the cage and grabbed his arm, dragging him out of the cage. The child tried to resist and screamed for his mother, tears falling from his eyes only to be reminded of the absence of his loved ones. Once the child was pulled out his cage something unimaginable happened the emotional turmoil of the child manifests itself in the form of an incredibly power Psionic burst sending a way of Psionic energy killing everyone with 150ft of the boy except to a few with magical items protecting them from such attacks. The blast was so strong it managed to kill an Illithid or more commonly referred to as a mind flayer that happened to be the one about to perches the small child.
This drew the attention of most those in the market area as they all stared at the child who is not sitting on the ground rubbing his head due to a sudden headache. After that display, only one being stepped forward. The creature appeared to be an Illithid whos host must have been female due to the shape of the body. Her robe is red with golden trimming. The robe has a high collar and many strange alien semble adorned in gold covers the robe. She also has a belt-shaped in the form of a drow skull and an amulet depicting the god Ilsensine. Something, however, seemed different with this Illithid and if one knew anything about the spices they would know it is not, in fact, a simple Illithid but a Ulitharid but that not just it. Her head is even more squid-like compared to an Ulitharid marking her as a Paragon of the race. Ulitharids are considered far above the average Illithid for they are far more powerful and fearsome thus Ulitharid means noble devourer in their tongue. This Ulitharid, however, is Paragon making her strength for above that of other Ulitharids to the point where they are seen to them as god-like beings.
She walked up and before the child could run off she telepathically commanded him with a little mind flayer persuasion behind it to stop and calm himself. She then took a knee and examined him more closely as the child began to surprisingly sake off her influence. She quickly grabbed his chin and held his left eye open with her long finger, then proceeded to examine his left eye.
To onlookers, this is a truly strange site but none dare interfered. The owner however marched over to the Ulitharid with a rapier in her right hand and in a low dark tone exclaimed. "This slave killed several of my hired hands and the rest of my stock."
The Paragon Ulitharid simply peered into the Drows mind looking at her strength and intelligence and found that this female would make a useless thrall. So the Ulitharid simply pulled a decent sized pouch out of thin air with her right hand and handed to the slaver before telepathically speaking to her "I will be taking the child."
She then turned her attention back to said child, despite the fact his mind seems to resist her domination the suggestion she implanted seemed to keep him calm. She telepathic speaks into his mind "You killed one of my apprentices so I will now have you take Rardsayossks place." she said as she grabbed the child and disappeared via teleportation.
The Drow slaver opened the bag to find gems and lots of them. She pulled one out of the bag to inspect it, the gem suddenly turned into sand. The whole bag followed and then to her utter horror her arm began to crumble and transform into sand. She let out a scream that echoed through the bazaar but soon she screamed no more.
