A/N: Well, there's a time for firsts, and well, might as well start here. My first great undertaking... whee. It should be said that updates will be weekly for the most part. So without further ado, let us begin with the prerequisites.

A Long Time Ago, aka One Score and Some-ish Years

The Emerald Forest, a calm location full of trees, bushes, and oh yeah, Creatures of Grimm. Said peace was disrupted by a particular team of hunters and huntresses of Beacon Academy, second year trainees at the oldest.

"You sure they're here Glynda?" Asked the first, his blue eyes gazing into the woods.

"Seven disappearances this week seems like adequate reasoning, James." His partner responded, riding crop drawn.

The two were interrupted by the sounds of battle. Gunfire, roaring, and the noise of sword against claw. Although relatively inexperienced, the two could tell that the fighters weren't in good shape. Well, the shouts of distress weren't helping either.

"Bartholomew! Go!" Shouted one of the fighters, barely dodging a swipe from an Ursa before countering with his cane, stabbing it in the eye.

"No way in Remnant I'm leaving you two Ozpin!" The second, Bartholomew, shouted back, swinging his bat type device at another Grimm, a Beowolf, sending it careening into its comrades, on fire.

"No time! Get out of here Oobleck! That's an order!" The third screamed, her two longswords cutting into the other Ursa before, oh so kindly, swinging the the poor teen and throwing him out of the fray.

As the two remaining combatants stood back to back against the remaining nine or so Grimm, fatigue setting in, they both thought the same thing 'at least one of us is getting out.' Sadly, their anticipation of a heroic death was cut short, as the two observers leaped into combat. The first, later revealed to be none other than James Ironwood, charged into the pack, firing his dust-shotgun at the Beowolves, taking two down before transforming it into a claymore (for those who are confused, the sword, not the mine), bringing a swift end to another three of the creatures. Meanwhile, his partner had summoned multiple glyphs, bringing bolts of fire into the remaining Grimm. Seeing this as an opportunity, the girl raised her swords to finish off the scorched Beowolves, while the other engaged the remaining Ursa alongside the claymore wielding student. Once the last Grimm was dispatched, the students had the opportunity to gaze upon the other.

The first thought that came to the rescuers was the ages of the ones they rescued. The male, Ozpin, appeared to be the age of most first-years, while the female… Well, she appeared to be too young to even apply, her early-teens at the most. Both had a recognizable silver hair and pale skin, while their eye colors formed an interesting contrast. Ozpin sported a dull brown while his companion's, were a dark cobalt. Their thoughts were interrupted as the girl ran to what James and Glynda realized, much to their horror, was a body. Strange enough, the two seemed to be taking it a bit too well, making a bed with nearby plants, before moving the body, clearly identified as a young woman into a resting position.

"Get some rest, you deserve it…" The girl said, tears attempting to break out, only to be held back. After completing their small ritual, the two walked to their 'saviors.'

"I've got to thank you for helping us out there." Ozpin spoke, breaking the silence, "If not for you, well, I don't know what would've happened."

"It's no problem, I only wish we could've made it sooner." James replied, "My condolences, was she a member of your team?"

"Jade Abstrego" The still, yet to be identified, girl spoke, on the verge of tears, "Lea- Former Leader of Team JOAB."

"I'm so sorry," Glynda finally spoke, pulling the girl into a hug. "I'm sure she was a wonderful person."

After a brief silence, Ozpin cleared his throat. "We need to keep moving, this area is full of deathstalkers at night." These words were followed by a curt nod from the girl before he continued "I'm known as Ozymandias Ozpin, and this is my sister, Alabaster. However she goes by Ally, and I, Ozpin for the sake of conserving time."

"James Ironwood, and this is Glynda Goodwitch." James said, introducing himself and his partner. "If that's what you think, we should head back to Beacon."

Several Hours Later

"I can see Beacon from here!" Alabaster shouted, finally showing some happiness as she sped off.

"So close…" James groaned, using his claymore as a crutch, "How do you stand her Ozpin?"

"Years of practice." Ozpin replied "That, and after seeing her in her, less fortunate, times of life. I would rather see her like this."

As the students made progress towards the gates of Beacon, a distraught Oobleck could be seen, before looking them and and running in their direction, waving frantically.

"Well, it's good to see we weren't missed." Ozpin spoke with a chuckle.

Oobleck shouting could be heard in the distance "- Back!"

The group stopped as James shouted a single word. "WHAT!?"

"-et Back!"

Realizing what her teammate was saying, Alabaster tapped Ozpin's shoulder as he muttered one word that summed up feeling of a dark shadow covering the group.

"Fuck."

The Battle was long and intense. The Grimm turned out to be an unidentified type, it's massive quadruped form wasn't the thing that terrified them. Nor was it the tentacles growing from its back. What did scare the living daylights out of the team was the fact that once you cut a tentacle off, it was instantly replaced by two more. Oh yeah. To make matter worse, the damn thing can teleport.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Glynda panicked as her glyph attacks weren't working, nor were any of her newfound allies' dust attacks.

"Keep Fighting!" James roared, blocking and countering strike after strike, "We can wear it out!"

"Physical abilities hampered due to traversing long distances!" Oobleck spoke in his shouting manner, "Will tire before it does."

As if the gods were watching, our quinted of students were painfully reminded that they were only second-year students and not hunters/huntresses. Namely in the form of a sweeping attack by the beast. Said attack resulted in them knocked to the ground, the Grimm preparing to kill each one blow by blow. First on its menu was Ozpin, tendril reaching to deal the final blow. Sadly for both parties, one Alabaster Ozpin was just slightly faster.

"NO!" she shouted, pushing her body beyond its limits, and intercepting the Grimm's tentacle, taking the hit instead of her brother. As it lifted her up she performed one last act of desperation, her Semblance. In a brilliant flash of light her body began to glow, as did the Grimm's. In that moment, the creature's limbs began to tear violently in the maelstrom of pure energy. The appendages now turned into deadly blades, cutting at any exposed piece of grimmflesh. Unknown to the teens, it began to use use an ability none knew a grimm was capable of, until now. In a final shriek of terror, it began to implode, sucking Alabaster with it. Unlike most explosions, or implosions for the matter, it didn't stop there. It continued to duck itself inwards, until the only trace of the girl was the ribbon she wore on her head, drifting to the ground

Silence was all that would be heard of the students when the authorities arrived, it would only be broken when they were asked one simple question. "Who was it?"

"Alabaster Rose" spoke a shell-shocked Ozpin. "An Amazing Daughter, Friend, and a Dear Sister."

Beacon Auditorium- The Next Day

"In light of the tragic deaths of Jade Abstrego and… Alabaster Ozpin... James Ironwood and Glynda Goodwitch shall join Ozymandias Ozpin and Bartholomew Oobleck to form Team OBGJ (Pronounced Oblige) lead by, Ozymandias Ozpin."

Unlike the events of the previous years, no cheers, shouts, or even noise in general met the headmaster's announcement. Only sorrow, mourning that the youngest student, one regarded as a child prodigy had been killed so soon was disturbing.

As the team walked from the stage, their team leader had only one thought in his head.

'I will bring you back sis, even if I must give my own life to do so.'

Random Location- Unknown Date

Alabaster had awoken in one of the least favorable places possible. The middle of a Warzone. Several minutes of running and violent curses later, she encountered the first of many challenges ahead of her. A faunus soldier, battle axe drawn, and charging right at her. Calming herself, she remembered the skill her grandfather had taught her.

'Focus, imagine your Aura building on a focal point,' She rose her hand towards her attacker, 'and let it loose.' A bolt of energy shot from her hand and struck the faunus in the chest, resulting in said person to fly back two meters, a hole blown into his chest. After looking at her handiwork, she promptly collapsed before fainting.

Alabaster awoke in the most peculiar of places, in a field hospital.

"Well, this is new" spoke an unknown voice.

"Who are y-" Alabaster attempted to ask, before shouting in pain.

"Hey, keep laying down kid". the person, Alabaster guessed as some soldier.

"You took quite a beating before my team found you. I'm surprised you're still alive, let alone capable of speaking. That said, that faunus was killed from the most peculiar of ways."

"I- gah! I-it was n-nothing." Alabaster muttered, "Not the first time anyways…"

"Well kid, for some reason the generals want to see you, so what do we call you?"

"Generals?"

"Well, some kid pops up in a battlefield, kills a faunus with some "sorcery space mumbo-jumbo." Bound to attract some attention."

"You've g-got a point there…"

"So, name? If not, I'm fine with listing you off as 'kid'."

"Call me, Alabaster...erm, Rose. That sounds good."

"Nice to meet you Miss Rose, I'm Commander Stratus Arc. We're in the process of relocating to Vale, go get some rest"

After that, pleasant exchange, Alabaster finally decided to lay down, and before drifting to sleep, began her plan.

'Help these people win their war, then find a way home. Sounds good.'
