The Sick Little Blue Bird

I walk out of my house, and smell the fresh spring air. I am about to go deal with my crops, when I hear a weak tweet. I look around, and see a little blue bird laying on the ground by a tree. I gasp, when I see that it is barely moving. Poor little birdy! I think, and crouch down by it. I reach down towards it, and it tries to move away from me.

"Shhh. Its okay." I say calmy, trying to sooth it. "I won't hurt you." I whisper, and it lets me pick it up. I hold it close to my chest, and stroke its little head gently. "What do I do?" I whisper to myself, then realize what I need to do. I head towards town, and go to Julia's House. I don't bother to knock, and walk inside. "Julia!" I call out, but receive no reply. I hear the door open behind me, and see its Vaughn. Oh no. I think to myself, as he walks over to me.

"What are you doing here?" He demands, and I grow nervous.

"I-I was looking to Julia." I say, and he glances at my hands.

"What do you have there?" He asks, curiousity in his tone. I gently pull the little bird away from my chest, and show him. He looks at it shocked, then frowns at me.

"I-I found it. Its sick. Please help." I beg, not caring that it was him. I gently hand him the bird, and he frowns at me.

"You can go now." He says, and I shake my head.

"I won't leave until I see its better." I say, determined. Vaughn sighs in annoyance, but allows me to stay. We go to his room, and he turns to me.

"Get a small blanket, and a box." He demands, and I rush to get the items. I come back, and set them up, as he tells me too. He sets the bird into the box, and leaves.

He comes back a few minutes later, with a bottle of animal medicine, and a dropper. He carefully fills the dropper with a little of the medicine, and gives it to the bird. He then sets the stuff down, and sits on his bed. I sit down as well, and frown. I hope its alright. I think to myself, and turn to Vaughn. "It'll be fine now." He tells me, before I even ask. I nod, and look away. "Why do you care so much about this bird?" He asks suddenly, and I blush.

"Two reasons." I say, and know he wants to know the reasons. "One, because I can't stand to see any animal it pain." I explain, and know he agrees about that. "And Two..." I hesitate, blushing. "Because I was hoping if I treated it nicely it would let me have a feather." I whisper, and turn to him. He is looking at me a serious look on his face, I blush a darker shade.

"Why do you want the feather?" He asks, knowing the answer.

"I-I want to give it to someone." I tell him, looking right at him as I say it.

"Who?" He asks, and I look away. He grabs my chin, and forces me to look at him.

"You'll just have to wait and see..." I whisper, pulling away, smiling at him.

A few days later, we walk outside, the little blue bird in my hands. I hold my hands up, and smile. It flys off, and I sigh. So much for the feather. I think to myself, when I feel something tickle my nose. I see a blue feather, floating down in front of my face. I gently grab it, and smile. I turn to Vaughn, and offer him the feather. He smiles, which he rarely does, as he takes the father from my hands. He grabs me by the waist, and pulls me in for a kiss. I guess its a good thing that I came across that sick little blue bird.
