Closer
Astrid bounced slightly on the balls of her feet. Her arms were raised in a defensive stance in front of her. Across from her, Hiccup did the same, a look of determination in his eyes.
"Ready?" she asked, giving Hiccup a grin, "Or am I going to kick your ass again like last time?"
"I'm always ready, Astrid," he smirked playfully in her direction, "The question is: Are you ready for all of this?" he asked, gesturing dramatically to his body.
Laughing quickly, Astrid nodded and launched herself at Hiccup with a shout. She wasn't one to wait around for someone to attack her; she was always the aggressive one.
Astrid swung her fist around, trying to strike Hiccup in the head; but he brought up his arm and blocked the attack. He threw a fist toward her chest, which she easily shoved out of the way. She tried to grab his arm, but he shook her off. Hiccup then swung his leg around, trying to trip Astrid and send her tumbling to the ground below.
Astrid saw the attack coming and jumped quickly, swinging her own leg out in a kick aimed at Hiccup's chest. Hiccup quickly jumped back away from the attack, recovering with a slightly wobble due to his prosthetic. He straightened up, catching his breath while sending a cocky grin towards his companion.
"Looks like I'm just too fast for you," Hiccup said, lowering his arms, "It's a tad embarrassing that you are losing to me, since you've always been top fighter on Berk and all."
He was teasing her again, he was completely distracted, and it was just the opening Astrid needed. She suddenly spun around, using her momentum to swing a fast kick at Hiccup's shoulders. This time it connected, the top of her bare foot smacking against his bicep and knocking Hiccup flat on his back.
"Fuck, Astrid," Hiccup grunted as he landed on the ground at her feet.
"Now who's the slow one?" Astrid teased, both hands on her hips as she smirked down at him, "I'll give you a hint. His name is Hiccup Haddock."
Hiccup grinned up at Astrid, "Nah, still you," he chuckled.
Hiccup suddenly used his leg to sweep Astrid's legs out from under her. With a startled yelp, Astrid lost her footing and fell forward. Hiccup gave his own shout of surprise as Astrid landed on top of him.
"Oof, sorry, babe," Astrid muttered as she propped herself up on her elbows. She was lying on top of Hiccup, straddling his waist, their faces only inches apart.
"Milady, we must stop meeting like this," Hiccup chuckled, brushing a stray strand of hair behind Astrid's ear.
"What's wrong, Hiccup?" Astrid teased, adopting a look of mock offense, "Don't you like being this close to me?" she wiggled her hips against his and smirked at how it made his breath hitch in the back of his throat, "Scared I won't keep my hands to myself?"
"Now, I never said that," Hiccup answered, wrapping his arms around Astrid's waist, "I love being this close to you. And, besides, maybe you should learn to move your hands more, Astrid."
Astrid giggled, lowering her arms around Hiccup's head. She subconsciously brushed a hand through his copper hair, "You know, Hiccup," she whispered, leaning closer and closer to him, so close their noses touched, so close she could see the flecks of gold in his emerald eyes, "I think I would prefer being just a little bit closer."
"I think I like the sound of that," he whispered.
Hiccup could feel her breathing on the side of his face, he could feel her weight shift on top of him, "I would like something maybe a little closer than that—," he began, before Astrid cut him off by brushing her lips softly against his.
