Hello friends, Ken here, and welcome to my first fanfiction on this account! I understand this first chapter is annoyingly short, but the next one is significantly longer, so no worries!

This fanfiction is based off a possible different universe where instead of the Anglo-Japanese Alliance, Japan forms a Russo-Japanese Alliance like his boss wanted. Its RusPan and AsaKiku so if you like either of those it should be good, but the Asakiku half might get a little depressing later in.

"I do not care if you wish to form an alliance with England, Japan. It is for the better if you improve your relations with Russia."

Japan was rarely indignant or angry, but right now he was outright fuming like a child throwing a tantrum, though a much calmer tantrum. It was more an internal tantrum that showed on his face more then he wanted.

"Boss-dono, you must understand. Not that you do not have a reasonable opinion, but Russia-san is not to be trusted and England-san is a much better choice for a f- ally." Japan tried to reason, catching himself before he called England "friend". Sadly, his boss noticed, raising an eyebrow and giving Japan a look. His boss set down his cup. Japan was frozen in place.

"I have not known you to brashly jump into an alliance because of feelings alone, Japan," he said slowly, as if considering how to phrase it as he spoke.

Japan quickly tried to explain, exclaiming, "I promise my reasoning is not personal! Yes, I do appreciate England as a person, but he is also a strong nation and with similar wishes. Together in an alliance-"

"That is enough of this, Japan! I will hear no more of it!"

Japan jumped to his feet, positively fuming. "I am going to see England-san."

"You are not."

"I am."

Japan's boss was taken aback at Japan's reaction, but clamped down. "I am ordering you, Honda Kiku, representative of the nation of Japan, to go visit Russia as of tomorrow. You may not visit England."

Dear kami, forgive him, he could not defy such an official order from his boss. He wasn't happy about it, but reigned in his emotions and sat back down, albeit heavily.

"May I send a letter to England-san to explain the situation and apologize, due to the fact he probably sincerely believes from my conduct yesterday that we would be forming an alliance and I would not want him to come to the conclusion I was attempting to deceive him to hurt his feelings."

His boss nodded after a second of consideration and Japan rose again.

"I am returning home."

'Dear Asa-san,

I am sending this letter with deepest regret in my heart, for I had not wanted to send this letter at all. I cannot defy my boss, however, no matter how much it pains me. My boss would like me to form an alliance with Russia instead of you. I am sincerely sorry. I know in another life we would have certainly formed a most worthy alliance and I am saddened by this loss.

Sincerely Yours,

Honda Kiku'

With every word Englands's grip tightened on the letter, and if anyone had asked he would have denied the tears threatening to fall at any moment.

"Hahaha, i-its fine, I'm fine! Haha. Who needs that bastard? Not me! I'm fine all by myself. Yes! Hahahaha...ha...Damn you and your annoyingly polite and kind letters of rejection and THE WHOLE DAMN WORLD."
