He can remember the exact words he said to Agent Gideon on the jet so many years ago. It was because of this that he calls the local flower shop and arranges for flowers to be delivered to her desk the following morning.
He couldn't help but watch as her face scrunch into confusion and then light up with a smile as she glanced at the card which simply read:
Emily,
I know I've been insufferable lately. Thank you for all you've done for me.

He pretended he was busy with paperwork, because heaven forbid her find out he's been watching her. He refused to look up, even though he can feel her presence, until she knocks on the door. He glances up. She's just standing there, still holding the card.
"Thank you," she whispered before stepping forward and giving him a light kiss on the cheek before going back to her desk without another word.
"Jason, people need to know that they're important and sometimes you forget that."
