"Don't touch me!" Sora screamed.

Kairi stepped back into the shadows. "I can't help you," she said.

The darkness engulfed her body, spreading around the room to Sora's bed.

Sora lay writhing on the bed in pain. He was drenched in sweat and tears.

A knock invaded Sora's head.

Knock. Knock.

He couldn't think about anything but the pain and that knock.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

His head was going to explode!

"Wake up you lazy bum!"

Sora opened his eyes to see Kairi standing over him. He sat up and looked around the beach.

He sighed.

"What were you dreaming about?" Kairi asked, sitting next to him.

Sora rested his head on Kairi's shoulder as he picked up a handfuls of sand and let them slowly drop into his lap.

"It was darkness," Sora said.

"What happened in the dream?"

"I don't really know. It was like… you wanted to help me. I was sick or something, but I wouldn't let you touch me."

Kairi put her arm around him.

"You know I'll always help you," she said. "No matter what."

She kissed him on the cheek.
