Thinking about Bones
A/N: This story is dedicated to my wonderful boyfriend. It's what I imagine he went through during a time when I thought he wasn't the one.
Summary: Booth's thought's in the time when Brennan is indecisive. BB.
Disclaimer: I don't own Bones and I only own half the plotline.
He couldn't believe it. He was Special Agent Seeley Booth of the FBI, former sniper and Army Ranger and he could not believe it.
Bones had gone out with him. They went out twice in fact. It was unbeknownst to Angela and the squints though. Actually on one of their dates, she had gone over to his apartment and they watched The Day After Tomorrow and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. His phone rang and the caller ID read "Bones". He smiled and answered it.
"Hey," he said.
"Hey Booth,"
"What's up Bones?"
"I don't know if…" Brennan hesitated.
"If what?"
"If you're the one. I don't know Booth. It's just lately I've been thinking about Sully and I feel a little tug at my heart."
"That's rational Bones. But what are you really saying?"
"I'm saying that I think we should just be friends. At least until I can make up my mind on whom I should choose."
"I'm alright with that. And I'll support you no matter who you choose."
"Okay thanks Booth. I have to go now."
"Okay, bye." Booth hung up the phone and sighed. He ran his hand through his hair and sighed again as he stood up and started pacing. "Dammit!" he cried and kicked the table in front of him.
What did I do wrong?? He thought. Why is she going for Sully? Of all people why Sully? Booth kicked the table again and grabbed a beer from the fridge. He sat down on the couch and opened the bottle but never brought it to his lips. Instead he picked up his phone again and dialled the one number he knew he could call.
"Hello?"
"Hey Jared," he said.
"Seeley?"
"Yeah, it's me."
"What's up bro? Why do you sound so down?"
"In a word: Bones."
"Your partner?"
"Yeah."
"Can you give me some clarification Seeley? I don't get it."
"Bones and I got together and I thought she was happy with me but she just called and said she didn't know if she loved me or Sully."
"Sully? That scumbag who left on his boat?"
"Yeah, him. They had a thing going on before he left."
"Well who do you think she'll choose?"
"Honestly? I think she'll choose to wait for Sully."
"Seeley you're not thinking this through properly."
"Then help me Jared. I don't want to lose her."
"What does she love the most?"
"Her job."
"What did Sully ask her to do?"
Realisation dawned on Booth. "He asked her to leave her job."
"And what do you do?"
"Encourage her with her job."
"Do you have your answer then?"
"Yeah…thanks Jared."
"No problem Seeley. You know where I am."
"Bye."
"Bye."
Booth hung up the phone and drank his beer. He turned on the TV and watched the last 15 minutes of a crappy movie before the knock came at his door. He opened the door and was surprised to see Brennan standing there.
"Bones, what are doing –" His words were cut short by Brennan stepping forward and silencing him with her lips on his. Booth responded to her kiss and deepened it but she pulled away.
"I made up my mind," she said softly.
"And?" asked Booth. His answer was another kiss, but more passionate than the first.
"I choose you," she whispered and Booth drew her in once more.
