Victoria very quietly made her way over to his armchair. She just needed to remember to act natural and breathe. It's not like he shouldn't be expecting this…right? I can't do it! Biting her lip Victoria turned to leave feeling almost sick from worry. No! Victoria Van Dort you will tell him, and my goodness you will tell him now! With a determined nod she walked back over and went around the armchair, sitting on the sofa before he could say anything.

"Hello darling." Victor quickly put his book down and moved to sit with her. "How are you today?"

How did he know? Am I that obvious?

"I know you said you hadn't slept well." He smiled lightly and gently placed an arm around her shoulders. "Did you ever get a nap in?"

Oh! Ah-haha! Of course not, of course he meant, silly of me really. "I'm feeling slightly better, thank you." Tell him we need to talk. "And yourself?" …Wait, that's not what I meant.

"I'm feeling fine, thank you for asking. The gardens just lovely if you feel up to a walk today." He laughed lightly, "Well it is even with all the bees and such."

I'm sure it is-wait! Don't let him go on a tangent; you have something to say so you should say it!

"Victor?" She looked up to meet his eyes.

"Yes dear?" Oh he's just so darling when he tilts his head like that! Focus!

"I well, um, I need to, um, tell you something. Andit'sveryimportant!" Oh I don't want to! He'll figure it out once a few months have passed-oh who am I trying to fool? I love Victor but he's not that keen on this sort of thing.

"Yes? Is something wrong?" Now he's worried, he's supposed to not worry already.

"No, no. Nothing is wrong at all!"

"You just seem a bit flushed. Would you like some water? I'll get you some-"

"No, there's no need for you to get up. I just-sit down Victor. I'm fine, really."

"Really? It wouldn't be a problem." Oh he's so sweet.

"Really."

"Ok, if you're sure."

"Positive. I just wanted to tell you something, that's all." See just be calm, and act natural. You're going to be ok. "I'm not very good at this sort of thing, and well, I, um, can I be blunt with you Victor?"

"Knock me out with the bluntness of your words Victoria."

"What?!" He does know!

"What? I…feel free to speak plainly."

Hahahaha! Silly, silly.

"Right of course. Victor I just want you to know…"

"Yes?"

"And I'm not joking or trying to alarm you…"

"Yes?"

"I just, promise you won't get too emotional or excited-"

"Vitoria my blood pressure is raising every time you cut off!"

"Sorry! I just need you to know that something very important is going to happen, and it will change everything."

I wish he wouldn't bite his lip so!

"Right, well, um, I, um, I'm, you see I think I…" Do it! "Victor I think I might be pregnant." Vitoria cringed.

That was a really loud thump.
