Came up with this when I was listening to Blink 182 - I miss you. Has nothing to do with it though. Ever notice how long things are written down? This took up 3 pages of my notebook.
Set in erm... Gondor, I think, at the very end. Can't say more, it'll give the story away
Disclaimer - Alway forget this ) I don't own Merry or Pippin. Why would I?
It is morning
It is morning, and it is still and silent.
It is morning and there is no heart beat, soft but strong, against Pippin's cheek. There is no breath, gentle like the breeze, moving the Took's hair as he sleeps. It is the cold wind that wakes Pippin today, not his love moving as he sleeps.
It is morning, and there is no reply to the,
"Morning, Merry," spoken everyday. No response as Pippin shakes Merry's shoulder. The younger of the two trails his fingers down his cousin's arm to grasp the other's hand.
It is cold, frozen even, in-
It is morning, one which Merry will never see.
Pippin moves closer to Merry, still holding his hand. He rests his head on his lover's shoulder and closes his eyes. He hopes and preys and wishes and wants to follow Merry to the haven where pain does not exist, and unhappiness never occurs.
Pippin does not, can not, follow, but remains in the cold bed, his departed Merry next to him.
It is mid-day, and Pippin has never been more alone.
It is mid-day, and Pippin still does not understand. He does not understand why he cannot follow Merry, as he has always done before. He does not understand why he has yet to cry or grieve over the loss of Merry. And he does not understand why this had to happen to him.
It is night, and Pippin crawls back into bed he and Merry fell asleep in the night before. Happy. Together. Pippin does not turn to look at the spot his cousin occupied. Instead, he turns and stares at the ceiling. He still does not cry, only closes his eyes and sleeps, painfully aware of the coldness around him, and how empty his arms feel.
He sleeps and dreams of him and Merry. Re-living every hour they spent together.
It is morning, and Pippin has followed his cousin to the haven where pain does not exist, and unhappiness never occurs.
It is morning, one which Pippin will not see.
I don't like the middle that much. I should have written more but I couldn't think.... Improvements are welcome.
