Well, I just wanted to do a small little thing on Shinji and Rei, so here it is. It's mostly based off of the final chapters of the manga. I pulled a Guilty Crown ending on this, though(not exactly like the Guilty Crown ending, but the reference is in there), so I'll have to add that in the disclaimer as well.
Anyway...
With Parentheses - Shinji
Without Parentheses - Rei
Italics - Both
Disclaimer: I do not own Evangelion. It belongs to Gainax and Hideaki Anno, and the manga belongs to Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Hideaki Anno and Kadokawa Shoten. I don't own Guilty Crown, either, since it belongs to I.G. Productions/Studios and its staff.
Together Again
*************
Red eyes stared at the sky, filled with the flames of hope that continued to diminish every day.
(Tired, brown eyes stared down at the world, with hopes of returning one day.)
Four long and painful years it had been since that fateful day.
(More than a thousand days had gone by since that fateful day.)
On that day, she found herself once more, but at a price.
(On that day, he gave his all to save her, no matter the price.)
Long, blue hair flowing gently in the wind, she sat there in her hidden meadow and recalled everything that occurred.
(Long, brown hair flowing down his back, he sat there, staring out into space and thinking back on what he had done.)
She had been the bringer of the apocalypse, and he had been the gateway.
(He had condemned the world, and together, they created a new one.)
Yet, he rejected the new world they had created together.
(Yet, it was not the world he desired, and so he rejected it.)
Her heart broke at that moment, fearing that he had rejected her as well.
(He loved her too much to allow her fate come full circle, and he didn't.)
She still remembered the warmth of his hand as she took the long, red string from him.
(He could still feel the warmth of her hand as she took his string of fate.)
Little too late did she realize what he had done, and her beloved was gone.
(He knew she would realize the meaning of it a moment too late, and her burden would be his.)
He had traded fates with her, and doomed himself to carrying her burden.
(She had doomed herself to carrying an immense burden, but he swapped their fates to give her a chance at a normal life.)
Even after four years, she still had a glimmer of hope.
(Even after a thousand and four-hundred days, he believed there was a small chance.)
So, they waited.
The hope within her would not die, and each day, she waited patiently for him.
(The hope within him would not die, and each day, he prepared himself for his eventual return.)
Even if her heart continued to shatter into millions of pieces, she would wait.
(Even if decades passed, and she fell in love with someone else, he would return to her.)
She would wait for him to come home...
(He would return to her...)
...another year passed, and on his birthday...
(Another three-hundred and sixty-five days passed, and on that day...)
...on that day, he surprised her at the meadow which only she knew of...
(...on that day, he found her at the meadow, gazing up at the sky, waiting for him.)
on that day...she was reunited with her beloved.
(on that day...he was reunited with the one he loved.)
On that day..he came home.
(One that day, she welcomed me home.)
On that day...we were together again.
Well, it's over. Like it? Hate it? Just leave a review.
I honestly don't know how this came out.
I'll probably do two more little short chapters.
So...I don't really have anything else to say other than...
Thanks for reading~
