(Sorry about deleting my other story to anyone who liked it. It was to make a better version, starting with Drago's backstory. Remember, if you see someone named 'Dragoon', it's actually Drago as a dragoonia.)
(Dragoonia: Image a normal dragonoid with two tails, three sets of wings, and a demon's eye in the middle of their chest.)
As he sat on his throne, King Dragoonia Maxius looked down proudly at his twin sons, who were sleeping in his wings. They both had bright red scales, like his. The younger one went by Halo, because of the yellow, halo-like ring around his head, while the older one, going by Dragoon, had a small, but pointy yellow horn on the bridge of his snout.
Neither of them had wings yet, but Maxius couldn't wait until they grew to teach them to fly. But he frowned he remembered the day they were born. It was also the day his beloved mate, Dragoonia Rose, died. She was too weak to stay alive because of a terrible sickness she had.
Luckily, the sickness didn't affect either of the children, or at least not yet. But not a day went by he didn't think of Rose. How felt like he failed to protect her, and because of it, she won't be there to watch her boys grow up. How mad she must be at him for allowing this to happen.
Maxius tears dropped from him eyes as he thought of this.
"Rose, I am sorry. I am so sorry." He whispered to himself.
Dragoon and Halo felt the tears drip on their faces and slowly opened their eyes. Dragoon's forest green eyes laid on his crying father, so did Halo's baby blues. Dragoon wiggled in his father's wings to get his attention.
Maxius looked down at the small dragons with his forest green eyes.
"What is wrong, my little ones?" Maxius asked them.
They reached up to him with worried looks on their faces. Maxius knew that they saw him crying. He lifted thim to his face with his arms and cuddled them, making them both laugh.
"Oh, I'm sorry my sons." He said. "I did not mean to worry you."
Dragoon stopped laughing and reached to Halo to hug his little brother. Maxius watched as Dragoon and Halo played by wiggling, but he kept a firm hold on them. Maxius thought about it a little. He will miss Rose, but her memory will still live on in the two heirs that she produced for him, especially Halo, who looked more like his mother.
"My dear and only children." Maxius whispered cuddling them some more. "I promise, nothing will ever happen to you..."
He was so wrapped up in the baby dragons, he failed to notice the dark eyes watching them in the shadows.
