There was a flash of light. Of pale green, red and shiny white.
The soul drifted, and then she begun to come around, almost reach the surface.
The woman awoke. It was hard to see anything; every time she closed her eyes a white light appeared on the inside of her eyelids. She thought it was a cave. It looked vaguely familiar... she had been here a long time. Yes. It was pretty beautiful, actually, with long stalaktites an stalagmites. She raised. Daylight... came... from over there. The woman walked, stumbled, crept towards it. It wasn't dark in the cave, but she longed for... the sun. And so finally she reached it. It almost blinded her. How long had it been? Too long. Hmm. Her body felt... somewhat unfamiliar. Clean. New, in some way. Ah, the sun warmed it. She leaned back, with a hillside behind her and water below. She looked down at her body. A white coat.
The woman didn't know how long she laid there, but she raiseed, and begun to climb the hill, without knowing why. The sweat ran down her back, and she paused very often, but she reached the top.
"Oooh..." How beautiful! An emerald green grassfield, as far as the eye could see. And something in the air. Grey, silvery. Coming towards her. "What is that?" the woman asked herself with a soft voice. The thing came closer, like a big bird, and sunk down, closer and closer to the ground. Well, why not go and see what it was? The woman giggled. She was curious. Then she saw something was threwn out from the flying thing. A... ropeladder? Yes. It was hard to see, so she pulled her glasses in place.
"Glasses? Wonder why I did not notice them earlier."
Someone came down the ladder now. The person wore... a red cape.
He looked familiar.
When Vincent had made his request to go to Lucrezias cave, Cloud immediately accepted. And that was why the tall, black-haired man climbed fastly down Highwind's ropeladder. He jumped down the last metres, landing silent like a cat, turned around, and begun to run towards the cave. Then he stopped, gripping his gun. But he let go of that when he saw that the white-clothed thing was a human. A woman. A whisper came over his lips...
"Lucrezia..."
Pushing himself to the limits, he ran, being awfully afraid she was only a vision, a dream. But she remained standing there, her head softly bent to the side, as if she wasn't surea about what she saw.
"Lucrezia."
The woman heard the tall man in front of her say a name. It was hers, she was sure of it. Lucrezia. And his... She disn't really want to say it. It was too many painful memories connected to it. But she said it anyway.
"Vincent."
And she didn't resist at all when he enfolded her in his arms.
