Upon a ridge slicing through a cold night sky filled with glittering stars, a small purple and white shecat padded through the brambles. She slipped through the thorny bushes as her violet pelt ruffled. Her paws slapped down on the earth below. She began to run, but a bulky tomcat pounced onto her. She writhed in the grip of his powerful paws. "What the-," Suddenly his grip loosened. He stepped off swiftly, his tail flicking awkwardly. "Pandora?" He mewed nervously. Pandora shakily stood, exhaling with relief. I know that voice! "Oh, thank god it's just you, Hellbent." She sighed. Her heartbeat was still quick. "We should head to my den," Hellbent suggested. Pandora nodded. Suddenly a fat raindrop plopped onto the earth beside her. Pandora shifted her paws and mewed, "Let's go quickly. Looks like a storm's brewing." Hellbent nodded and they began dashing through the thick pine forest. Pandora's muscles rippled as she ran behind the handsome tomcat. The rain was falling quicker now. Soon, after racing through clumps of ferns and briar, they reached the muddy burrow where Hellbent lived. The tomcat came to a sharp halt by the den. "You can go first," hellbent purred. Pandora dipped her head respectfully, then padded into the den. It was large, and there were broad, huge leaves and moss blankets covering the den's ceiling, walls, and floor. She sighed and settled down into a bed of warm animal fur and feathers. She could identify the vole, mouse, and rabbit fur, and the dove, crow, and falcon feathers. She closed her eyes and felt Hellbent crawl into the bed with her. She listened to his repeated deep breathing until she fell asleep.
