A/N: This is just a piece about these two interacting after the bomb in a body cavity episode in season two.
"That's not the she he was askin' for," Adele commented to her simple-minded husband. After everything calmed down, Adele talked to a whole bunch of people, trying to figure out what really happened. Finally, she found Derek Shepard in his office. *KNOCK KNOCK*
"Oh, Adele, come in," Derek greeted wearily.
"Do you know what happened?" she asked, knowing that he would catch her meaning.
"No, I've just been doing work, checking on Bailey and her husband."
"Well, you know that young paramedic freaked out and had a panic attack. She took her hand out of the body, and Meredith, thinking of the patient, shoved her hand in him, and stabilizing the thing."
"I knew she had her hand on the bomb," Derek said softly. "Yang told me."
"Well, they had to move OR's, to get away from the main oxygen line. She told Preston to get out, she didn't want anyone else to die. You know her, martyr and all. But she got the bomb out and gave it to the bomb guy. Well, Meredith followed him into the hallway. That's where it went off. She wasn't right next to it, but she got a hell of a blast. That's why she wasn't down there. Izzie and Christine were taking care of her.
"She almost died today," he murmured.
"Yes she did, but she's alive," Adele said. "I think you know what to do."
Derek nodded, grabbed his coat and keys, and left the hospital.
