Prologue
Hanna wiped away the tears that kept coming down her cheeks. The rain didn't help so much either. She was upset and tired and she just wanted to go home. She was so confused and wanted to be mad at Caleb for what he did. She was definitely mad at Miranda for coming on to her boyfriend, especially after she tried to help Miranda find her family and even allowed Caleb to stay with her in Ravenswood. Hanna had gone to surprise Caleb in Ravenswood after they haven't seen each other in a few weeks. She just happened to walk in on Miranda and Caleb kissing outside of his house. Once she realized what was happening, she had turned around and tried to run away. Of course, right when she arrived, it had started to drizzle and she slipped.
Caleb heard a slight wince and barely managed to spot a hint of blond hair that could have only belonged to one person. Hanna. He realized what she had seen between him and Miranda and ran after her. He found her on the ground, rubbing her ankle. He helped her up and hugged her but Hanna was stiff. When they pulled back Hanna was looking at him and he could tell she was angry. He was so stupid, of course she was angry, Hanna had just walked in on him and Miranda kissing. Caleb just didn't know what she was doing in Ravenswood.
"Hanna, let me explain-"
"Save it Caleb! I know what I saw! You and Miranda were . . . I trusted you! If you wanted to be with her, you could have just told me. You didn't have to cheat in order to be with her. I should just leave. You're obviously busy here. Have a nice life Caleb. " Hanna turned around and started to walk away but wasn't able to take two steps before Caleb grabbed her arm and turned her around so she was face to face with the person she was madly in love with.
"Hanna please don't do this! Look, I'm sorry but you were not meant to see that! It's a huge misunderstanding! She came on to me. I would never do anything that would ruin our relationship! You must know that. You know that I love you with all my heart."
"Caleb, please! I know what I saw. You and Miranda kissed and you did nothing to stop it!"
"I know what it looks like but please don't do this. I love you."
Hanna began crying even harder after she heard what Caleb just said. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw some movement. She looked again and it was Miranda. Caleb noticed Hanna's attention go somewhere behind him. He turned around and saw Miranda facing them.
Hanna saw Miranda looking at Caleb with a look of wanting and she was immediately disgusted. She removed herself from Caleb's grasp and ran to her car. She got in and started her engine.
Caleb felt Hanna leave his arms and turned around and watched her run to her car. "Hanna! Wait!" He started running towards her car but she drove away to quick. "Hanna!" Caleb saw Hanna's car leave and he felt empty. Caleb would always regret the decision of him hurting Hanna and would never forgive himself.
