Gotham City Docks, Container ship yard. 1:55 am.

A swift figure ran hastly towards a chained door.

Almost 2 Am. He thought. I have to hurry. He kicked down the door

with shear force and bolted down the dark open hall way. He could already hear ticking.

A person screaming beneath a vale over their mouth. He entered the room to see a small man

laying helplessly on the ground right next to a ticking bomb. The masked man swiftly ripped the vale

off the man's face and sliced his bonds with a bat-shaped shuriken. "B-B..Batman"? The man mumuered.

Batman lifted the man to his feet. "Come on. I'm getting you out of here."

"No! We're both gonna die now, Batman!!" Batman ignored the man's cries and yanked him down

the hall. "Shut up." Batman spat. "Your gonna be fine." The cicled the down the hall, the way Batman came

in. They stood in front on the gate to see the city off in the distance, when the ground shook with tremedous

force. Batman swiftly grabbed the man and threw him up and off into the air. Fire came flowing down the hall and

Batman leapt just in time to avoid the fire and catch the hostage.

Batman flew over the elegant, yet some what crummy looking building of Eastern Gotham. He landed on

a nearby rooftop. "Thank you Bat -" the man started but Batman inturrupted. "Dont go thanking me jusy yet.

I know you. Your one of..his." The man face shaped into a horrified look. "Yes..but, he did this to me." Batman

yanked him by the colar, looking him dead in the eye. "Why?" The man was sweating now. "He - He found

out I was invetisng all of his...earnings into a account of my own..." Batman now looked confused beneath

his mask. "You robbed him? You robbed your own boss?" "Well..uh, yeah. He just looked and acted so stupid. And

he never payed me like I should - -" before he could finish, both men heard a quick whip, slinging sound. Suddenly..the

man in front of Batman goes limp, and plunges to the ground. Batman spots something gleaming on the back of the man's

neck. A card. A metal throwing blade that looks like a playing card. Batman looked around, alarmed. But didn't spot anything.

He only heard something, then. The laugh. The laugh of The Joker.
