Midnight Outings
By: FireflySnowflake

The world is still. In this moment the earth has stopped it's rotation. The stars have never glistened so brightly before. It's almost unreal. I feel like I could reach out and touch the night's silent beauty but in fear of marring the perfection of it, I remain still. The ground beneath me is cool and soft and the scent of the night is sweet. The air seems to have it's own musk. A blend of fallen leaves and worn dandelions. Off to my side I see a small field of daisies, the only thing that has survived the warning chill of autumn. The chill that whispers to us that the cold will soon settle in. Everything on earth will be destroyed by falling snow and be born again in spring. I jump to alert as I hear a small rustling noise.

The flickering flame of the candle you hold lights your face and I know it's you. It gives

you a sort of eerie look but at the same time strangely comforting. Quietly, you make your way to me, setting the candle a fair distance away from us. You then come back to lie on top of me, and as you do my reality becomes hazy. I feel much warmer, the night is far sweeter. I deeply inhale the cherry-flavored air while you soothe me in a soft voice "I promised you Wakaba-chan, we meet here at midnight."

"Hai, I remember Saionji-sama," I whisper in a soft response.

I feel your hand brush over my cheek, tracing, as you whisper in awe "You are so beautiful." Heat passes over my cheeks flushing my skin a shade of pink. You smile and suddenly your face is slowly descending. Your lips tickle my neck and make me purr. I don't want to sit still anymore. I want to touch and feel every part of your body with my lips, and hands. I want to see every inch of you, in all of your glory. I am broken from my daydream with a hiss when your teeth begin to nip at the tender skin on my neck. I struggle not to cry out but that's when I realize your hand has moved from around me to the flat of my stomach and is still going lower. I look at you while I stiffen in fear, but you don't let up and before I know it, I'm bucking at the mercy of your fingertips. A climax hits me and my tired body collapses into a peaceful rest. The candle blows out.

I open my eyes. Morning? I'm tucked in bed, how did I get here? What happened to the night? Tears fill my eyes as my memory hits me. It could've just been a dream. A beautiful dream. Then something unusual from my night table catches my eye.

A ring, made from a daisy. Remarkable, how it managed to stay alive. But next to the ring is a card. 1 simple card with tiny roses embroidering it. And in the center of the rose stationary, there are 2 words. I've heard them time and time again, but never to me. Just 2 little words.

MARRY ME.
